Yes, as described above the same folder seemed to work OK with TC from internal but not from external. It worked OK on both with ES File Explorer.

That's because names are kept in dynamic strings with unlimited length but if you want to open such file with long name, you must add special prefix to its name (blame Microsoft for such a stupid idea).

You can create LNK for CMD and set 'minimized' in its properties and then specify LNK instead of CMD in internal associations.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and tried to access it Windows Media Audio 2 PlugIn which also works pretty good.

But all times are 2 hours ahead on my S4 (I'm on UTC+1+DST = UTC+2) which makes it impossible to use the synchronize directory feature.

In the Windows Explorer, the date/time is shown correctly.

It would be great if this problem could be fixed because as for now there is no good sync tool for MTP. PureSync does not work for me (sizes are shown as 0 - this works OK with TC).

Hallo allesamt, verwende TC 6.03

Frage:
Mein Ziel soll sein, MP3-Dateien die nach dem Datum wie in der Suche angezeigt ist,
zu lokalisieren um dann an MP3Tag per *.m3u �bergeben zu werden.

Wer hat eine Idee oder andere Vorgehensweise
zu diesem kleinen Anliegen/Problem ?

M�glicherweise auch ein Firewall Problem ? TC ((nicht) alles �ber einen Port?) f�r R�ckantworten kriegen / empfangen d�rfen blockiert, beim Flash (anderer Port ?) aber in beide Richtungen frei ?
Oder haut das Flash wom�glich radikal nach dem: los du Server, nimm gef�lligst die Daten an, mir doch egal wie du das schaffst, ich schick die jetzt einfach mal los .. Prinzip raus ?

Exception handler should report the call stack, so the bug report will allow to find a cause of this problem.

This is probably a problem with Z-order of the main TCMD window:
- user presses F5,
- TCMD creates a copy dialog and brings it to the top (this is a modal dialog, so main TCMD window becomes disabled),
- after showing a dialog, something brings the main (disabled!) TCMD window to the top.

I created a piece of code that reproduces this kind of problem. Form1 has a button with Onclick event = Button1Click. Form2 is an empty form. After clicking a button, disabled(!) Form1 is being moved over active Form2. Pressing Alt+Tab restores the proper Z-order.

To solve the problem described in this bug report, it must be found what brings the main TCMD window to the front after displaying a copy dialog.

Unfortunately its not yet possible, will be ready in future versions (>=0.8, see the previous schedule post) along some other useful improvements of the UI (search & filter, etc). Until the feature arrives you can simply use the arrow keys (<- and ->) to step one-by-one through the updatable items.

ok it works now with the short name.
not very beautiful, the cmd window is open for 1 second, but it works now for .mp3 and .m3u.

I used the following internal association:

The tip with the explorer seems not applicable here because how would I know where to trim?

Ok after some tests, it seems that all winamp versions have this problem.

If I check the filename in winamp with right click info I can see the correct long filename with path. It's just that winamp is refusing to play.

BTW drag and drop from TC works fine.

That would solve such problem in TC. As I see, Explorer shortens folders until it gets path that fits into 259 character length.

Dann sollte TC beim Refresh vielleicht nicht nur �nderungen an den Dateien, sondern auch einen Abbruch einer zuvor erstellten Thumbnail-Erstellung erkennen.
Er m�sste ja nicht die bestehenden Thumbs verwerfen, sondern nur die noch nicht erstellten generieren.

Irgendwie ist es komisch, dass man stattdessen den Fokus vom TC wegnehmen muss, um die fehlenden Thumbnails zu erstellen.

Ich wei� nat�rlich nicht, wie gro� der Implementierungsaufwand w�re und wei� nun, dass momentan ein Fokuswechsel hilft.

hallo Users,
habe soeben die Antwort durch Zufall selber gefunden. Neben dem Suchendialog ist ein kleiner Diamant, den anklicken und sofort ist die Ansicht der Suche in dem entsprechenden Fenster auf die Verzeichnisse und Dateien begenzt, die mit dem Buchstaben beginnen.

Hallo Users,

ich habe Totalcommander auf meinem Notebook unter Win 7 Pro 32 bit und auf meinem Rechner unter Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit installiert. Bei beiden ist f�r die Schnellsuche Buchstaben + Suchendialog und am Anfang eingestellt
Auf meinem Notebook wird, wenn ich einen Buchstaben eingebe, nur noch die Verzeichnisse und Dateien mit diesem Anfangsbuchstaben angezeigt. Das finde ich sehr arbeitserleichternd.
Auf meinem Rechner ist das trotz identischer Einstellung nicht so. Woran liegt das oder gibt es daf�r noch eine gesonderte Einstellung

Explorer automatically passes shortened paths if their long versions are too long. It uses this trick in many occasions - when you double click on some file, drag-n-drop it or create a shortcut to it. If you double clicked on a file from the example in your first post, this would be launched:
