Hi

Is it just me, or the "Search" context menu is really gone in the new tcmd?
When I try to reach it from Total commander and right clicking a directory, everything is there, except the search function.

Das Einzige, was mich jetzt noch ein bisschen st�rt, dass ich das Fenster von TC nicht �ber einen Parameter in der Registrierung automatisch maximieren kann. Wei� hier noch jemand Rat oder hat jemand einen Tipp, wie man das anderweitig erreichen kann?

PPS: Hat sich erledigt: hab die L�sung gefunden: >> Konfigurieren >> Position speichern.

Irgendwie klappt nach einer gewissen Zeit doch alles mit TC!

I've actually realized that nearly all of my TC crashes have been TwinKey related.

Testing the most recent version, no crashes as of yet ... :)

Though there is a visual issue ( bug / problem ) ?

When I enable Total Commander's Background2, Twinkey turns it into black.

My normal background1 (RGB): 00,34,00
My normal background2 (RGB): 00,33,00

When TwinKey is enabled, background2 displays as (RGB): 00, 14,00

I've added (to my own copy) changing the ButtonBar iconsize when TC's non-maximized width is below a user-definable pixel-width.

The problem is finding where the current wincmd.ini is.

Option 1: Requires SetEnv.exe.
--> Sends a command to TC's Command Prompt to set a Volatile Environment variable (Registry), so that the script can access it.

Option 2: Requires using an AHK script for launching Total Commander.

Option 3: Requires usage of my TC.ahk LIB and adding a User-Command to Total Commander:

Option 1 is the least clean method, yet all pretty much require something external to the stand-alone script.

Development Notes:
Will Release version 3.30 (without the buttonBar feature) that is AHK Library compatible. e.g. will be able to cleanly include into any other AHK Script, and just call the INIT() function.

The only time I've noticed similar behavior was when I run WinSpector Spy -- and that is to be expected as it (AFAIK) does DLL-injection into every app to monitor it's activity.

I've noticed this as well, though usually when it occurs I'm in the middle of a project and can't be distracted to post about it.

It doesn't always occur though, so I haven't nailed down what exactly triggers it. As often it will just reconnect...

Total Commander's FTP doesn't react well when your internet connection or DNS is down either, that takes an exceedingly long time to time out.

I came across SetEnv.exe quite some time ago - but never used or tested it.

I recently had the need to be able to pass data between programs and found that SetEnv works fairly well in this regard.

Normally in windows we would start a CMD prompt, set some variables and then start a program from there. The newly launched program would inherit the modified command prompt's environment.

The newly launched Total Commander would now have access to the variable "TTOOLS" -- which could be used pretty much anywhere in it's interface: ButtonBar, User-Commands, TC's Command Prompt, etc.

This is all well and good, but what if you wanted to change that variable, or add more? You would need to close TC, change your TCLaunch.cmd and restart. Yet this is not the case with SetEnv.

SetEnv writes to a couple registry keys, the ones of most interest are:
[HKCU\Environment] keys/variables are permanent (for this user) until deleted, and
[HKCU\Volatile Environment] keys/variables are purged after a reboot.

Any variable/key placed into either of those locations are immediately available to all applications except for currently open command prompts. Which is one of the reasons I thought the program was of no use, as it didn't seem to consistently set any variable at all. After figuring this out I found that any Command Prompts opened afterwards will have access to the new Environment variables.

As well no new syntax is required to use them, they are accessed just like every other "normal" Environment variable, e.g. %ProgramFiles%

@MVV or allow us to add Filters to ignoreList -- as opposed to files by name only.

Ich habe keine Ahnung, warum es mit der anderen Registrierungsdatei nicht funktioniert hat. Die sah n�mlich genauso aus (wenn ich mich nicht t�usche)...

Bez�glich TCShell gehe ich auch von einem falschen positiven Ergebnis aus. Aber seit ich vor einem halben Jahr nach der Installation von zweifelhafter Software mit Explorerabst�rzen ganz derbe Probleme hatte, bin ich da ein gebranntes Kind...

I have some FTP connection with virtual machine FTP server in a tab. Sometimes I choose this tab and TC says something like 'connection is lost. reconnect?'. I answer Yes, all work fine.

But if I try to copy files to other panel with this tab and connection is lost TC hands for some time (as I see it reports 'permission denied') and then asks 'Transfer failed, continue operation?'. It seems that TC tries to wait for some time to repeat transfer and it does so for every file to be copied. It is not possible to cancel this operation.

This bug is VERY annoying for me because every time it happens I need to wait for 5-10 seconds before TC become responsible again.

I can see same effect when I'm trying to copy to write-protected FTP folder - I need to wait for 5-10 seconds before TC say 'Transfer failed, continue operation?'. BTW when TC needs to create folder before copying file(s) it reports error immediately.

Danke, f�r den Tipp, hat bei mir aber leider immernoch nicht funktioniert. Gibt es speziell eine M�glichkeit Plugins zu "entfernen" oder reicht es aus sie neu hinzuzuf�gen? Wenn ja, hat es bei mir leider das Problem immernoch nicht behoben :/
