When comparing files with TAB's, the TAB's are expanded to an awful lot of spaces. 8 I think I can count.

Can this be reduced to something sensible like 2?

My text ends to the far right - off the screen.

Additional IconSize setting:

The normal setting, plus Maximized Size

When you maximize Total Commander, the ButtonBar icons will be set to the "Maximized Size" and when you restore/un-maximize TC -- the icon size will be reset to: "Size".

I find when I un-maximize TC the buttonbar has to wrap, so I used to manually adjust the IconSize. I wrote a snippet of AHK code to automate it, but it's messy -- It requires opening the buttonBar dialog: as I couldn't get Total Commander to recognize an INIWrite/change in wincmd.ini directly for that setting.

If there was a command to tell TC to reread it's ini-file that would work (but there isn't) :: We could tell TC to Save the INI file. Make the change. And indicate that TC should reload the wincmd.ini

Hallo Leute,

ich habe den MP3-Player Archos 5 Internet Tablet. Im Explorer wird er als "Archos 5H" angezeigt. Ich kann ihm aber kein Laufwerksbuchstaben zuordnen. Kann ich den Player im Total Commander irgendwie einblenden, damit ich die 2-Fenstertechnik wie �blich nutzen kann? Im Moment muss ich immer den Explorer aufmachen um Dateien auf den MP3-Player �berspielen zu k�nnen.

Ich nutze Windows 7 Professional

Danke schon im voraus f�r Eure Hilfe.

Currently, if I want to view a file from an archive, file has to be unpacked in full. For big files, I may need to wait quite long. It would be nice to have a "start viewing "button on unpacking progress bar.

Hi,

It would be nice to be able to specify an alias for menu and button bar commands, so that they could be invoked from TC command line. For example, if I have a notepad in my menu and specify an "np' alias for that menu item, then typing np<ENTER> in TC would invoke notepad.

In Opera browser, for example, similar feature is called Nickname (for bookmarks).

I just found out that it's not possible to select more than one file in the Multi-Rename Tool. I'd like to be able to do this, so that I can move a block of files up and down the list.

I hope this isn't a rude question, but I'm wondering how much money Total Commander brings in. Have numbers ever been shared?

I ask because I'm thinking about trying to sell my own software. I'm wondering how much money I could reasonably expect to make if I used a very generous model such the one TC uses (unlimited trial, simple key-based registration, etc).

Nachdem mir unter Win7 der TC 7.55a nach einer v�llig harmlosen Aktion eben mit der Meldung "Total Commander funktioniert nicht mehr" (o.�.) abgeschmiert ist, kann ich auch nach einem Reboot die Eigenschaften/Properties einer Datei weder mit <Alt+Enter> noch mit Rechtsklick/Eigenschaften zum Vorschein bringen. Es passiert einfach nichts.

Im Windows Explorer funktioniert es...

Irgendeine Idee, woran das liegen k�nnte?

I'll burn mp3-Files on a CD. The problem is, in the TCBurner the files will be sorted by name. But I like to have my files in the form X-Song, A-Song, N-Song etc. in fact no sorting. Of course, I can use a counter prefix but in some mp3-players the filename and not the tag will be displayed. So it looks really stupid if your song displayed in a manner like 003_Song... User defined columns with ShellDetails are not supported by TCBurner. Is there any solution?

I've hit this before and I didn't get around to saying anything about it.

This *ONLY* happens after using the menu many times. Rather than getting all the options I should be getting I have only the bold filename, Burn with ImgBurn and the standard Windows file operations. None of the context sensitive stuff is there. Once this happens it happens 100% of the time until I close Total Commander and open it again at which point everything is back to normal.

I have a system up time of 10 days at this point and I strongly suspect Total Commander was running that long but I don't know.

From the help file,

"- Drag a file to the command line to add its short (DOS) name to it. To add the long name, press Ctrl+Enter instead. Holding down Shift adds the name with full path."

This seems to have broken recently for network shares (mapped drives) on win 7 clients. I know it works on XP from both local drives and mapped network drives but not in Win 7 on the same network.

Any thoughts?

Ahoj,
jestli jsem to pochopil dob�e, tak TC nelze vytvo�it virtu�ln� slo�ky (n�co jako knihovny ve win nebo kategorie v obr�zkov�ch mana�erech) kam by se soubory nekop�rovaly fyzicky?

Chci si za��t d�lat po��dek ve sv�ch n�kolika TB obr�zk� a vide� a necht�l bych k tomu pou��vat t�eba TC+ picasa + XY, zvl᚝ proto, �e ka�d� program k tomu p�id� sv� skryt� pozn�mky, kter� neum� ��st jin� atd... - je v tom pak chaoz. R�d bych prost� pou��val na celou organizaci TC.

Ale to, aby soubor pat�il z�rove� do n�kolika kategori�, kter� jdou snadno prozkoumat jako pr�v� ty virtu�ln� slo�ky, to je k tomu podle mne nezbytn�.

Jak to d�l�te vy? M�te n�jak� tip? A nebo holt zase budu muset s�hnout k n�jak�mu m�n� Tot�ln�mu (a �ist�mu) �e�en�? - D�ky za odpov��!

Wenn ich mit dem TotalCMD 7.55a unter "Vista Home Premium" einen Ordner mit vielen Dateien kopiere (mit F5 aufgerufen), bricht der Kopiervorgang nach �bertragung von etwa 21845 Dateien mit der Meldung:

"Kann die Datei xyz.123 nicht anlegen. Enfernen Sie den evtl. Schreibschutz" ab.

Ich versichere unter Indianer Ehrenwort, dass weder ich noch sonst jemand auf der Platte einen Schreibschutz geklebt hat. F�hlt sich an wie ein Bug.

Wer wei� hier Abhilfe?

Moin!

Folgendes Problem tritt einzig und allein beim TC auf:
Wenn ich beispielsweise eine mp3-Datei anklicke �ffnet sich stets neben dem jeweils aktiviertem Player (Real-Alternative, Media Player Classic, KM-Player oder Winamp) Windows-Audio. Ich muss den dann erst im rechten Fenster wegklicken, damit ich ich nicht einen Song leicht zeitversetzt doppelt h�re. Habe versucht, Windows Audio unter Dienste zu deaktivieren. Dann funktioniert allerdings keiner meiner Player.
Da ich nun als einer, der noch mit dem Noton Commander aufgewachsen ist gerne mit dem TC arbeite, w�rde ich mich �ber eine L�sung sehr freuen.

Hallo,

ich m�chte mit Total Commander einen Ordner mit vielen verschiedenen Unterordnern und Dateitypen �ber den Befehl "Verzeichnisse synchronisieren" vergleichen und auch synchronisieren.
Es sollen alle Dateien, die NICHT *.dwg sind, synchronisiert werden.
Geht das mit booleschen Operatoren? Wie?
Bis jetzt muss ich alle verschiedenen Typen einzeln vergleichen lassen, z.B. *.doc oder *.xls.

Hallo,

ich m�chte folgendes tun: einen Button in der Buttonbar klicken, der dazu f�hrt dass die in meinem DVD Laufwerk liegende DVD abgespielt wird.

Dazu haben ich die erste ifo-Datei per Drag and Drop auf die Buttonbar gezogen. Da ifo bei mir mit dem Media Player verkn�pft ist bekam ich sogar das MP-Symbol automatisch auf den Button. Soweit ok.

Zus�tzlich h�tte ich aber auch gerne dass das Fenster des TC minimiert wird. Das geht theoretisch per cm_Minimize.

Leider habe ich in der Hilfe keinen Hinweis entdeckt, wie ich dem vorhandenen Kommando D:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_0.IFO den Aufruf cm_Minimize folgen lassen kann. Kann ich zwar davor oder dahinter schreiben, das funzt aber nicht.

Bitte um Aufkl�rung.

I have some html files, that contain right to left (Hebrew) content. I want to view them by Lister.

When I do so, I get the Hebrew text displayed in reverse order of characters.

I see that starting in version 7.50, Lister has a character encoding support for right to left text.

However, the encoding menu is disabled when selecting "HTML text" in the options menu.

I there a way to make Hebrew encoding support available for HTML files?

Nejl�pe n�koho, kdo editor aktivn� pou��v� (nen� podm�nkou).

P�eklad obsahuje lehce p�es 1100 �et�zc� a aktu�ln� m�m hotovo asi 80 %.

V p�ekladu je xy m�st, u kter�ch zat�m v�bec netu��m...

i have 3 servers holding the same set of folders ( a web site)
when we need to update the site i copy all changes to one server and usually sync that folder with server 2 and then sync again with server 3

my suggestion: since i want to apply the exact same changes to both servers, add a button on the sync folders window for multi sync in which i will be able to specify more target directories to which the exact same changes should be applied (same changes as the one being copied from left to right on my case).

I am finding it a bit annoying and have put up with it for a long time so thought I would mention it.
I am using TC 7.55 but it was the same in 7.5
I highlight a folder and press delete on the keyboard, It complains of not being able to delete everything, then when I look in the folder everything is deleted but just not the folder itself. The only way I can delete the folder is by using a programm called "unlocker" which always shows that it is TOTALCMD.exe that is blocking the deletion.
of course Unlocker deletes the folder no problem but I hate having to use it many times a day!
I rarely get this problem with explorer or other file manages. What should i do??
