Comparing file contents

Post by *jensrauff »

Hi all. I like the sync/compare part of TC, but i would like to know if it is possible to change the highligt colors of the compare part? I use the classia blue/yellow/red in TC, but when I copare the back is white, text is black and selected text is red.

One more question about the "Next difference" button. Does it only scroll the screen if the next difference is not "on the screen"? I would also like to have a cursor that moves around, but i guess that is not possible.

Best regards Jens Rauff

Look at the "Help", search for "Comparetext". You fill find:

Code: Select all

CompareText	Dateivergleich, Textmodus: Farbe der Unterschiede

CompareTextSel	dito, aber bei markiertem Text
CompareBinary	Dateivergleich, Binärmodus: Farbei der Unterschiede
CompareBinarySel	dito, aber bei markiertem Text

It scrolls to display the "next difference" in the upper area of the screen (approx. in the 3. line of text).

Hi Peter.

Thank you for aswering. I had not imagined, that it could be so easy. Now the difference text is another color, but can I in some way change the background? I prefer a darker background when reading on a pc monitor.

:) Hello !
…but can I in some way change the background? …
• IIRC, this was requested already, don't remember where exactly…

- It isn't possible currently to change this BG colour. Probably feasible, but the Author has other fish to fry :D

Is there a way that one can contribute to the development?

• Directly, I don't think… The Author holds the sources since TC is a Shareware, they aren't free, it's that normal.
- But for some Author's plugins or an isolated problem, the competent programmers-users propose often
some pieces of codes which I guess are tried and used…
- Moreover, anything that saves time for him is helpful, i.e. produce some tool¦plugin avoiding easily
to add a heavy built-in function, contribute to the docs… etc.
- And, of course, report bugs and suggestions here.
