Deleting dulplicate files

Post by *Fendrich »

I've got a terrabyte and a half that I share with some other departments. This terrabyte has been used to archive files and directories from another drive. We need an automatic backup, but instead we're copying by hand. There are many duplicate directories and files on the terrabyte. Is there an automated way to delete all duplicates using TC? Thanks for your insight.

There are many discussions and some different ways to handle this problem. Please take at first a long look to the current discussions - you will find a lot ...

Thanks Peter, I did search the forum before I posted and didn't turn up anything that matched. I just browsed through quite a few posts and wasn't able to make the connection to my problem. I want TC to create an alphabetical file list of the entire drive and then delete duplicate files. Can someone point me to a simlar topic as this? Thank you.

I used Advanced Find to turn up a huge duplicate list. I saved the browse. Could anyone suggest a process to purge duplicates? Thank you
