then you will end up like the Mathematica Link plugin which is only of minor use I am afraid.

Thanks to Christin Ghisler and HolgerK the new version 1.6.0.1 of the MAT-file Viewer plugin is compatible to MATLAB R2007b.

I have a machine with 64 bits MATLAB R2013a and 32 bits Total Commander installed, can I install 32 bits MAT-file Viewer for my TC ? If not could you please give me some suggestion ?

You need 32-bit libraries if you want to use plugin in 32-bit TC.
* Either install MCR 2013a (32-bit) from http://www.mathworks.de/products/compiler/mcr/ or
* download and install libraries from plugin installer (see http://tbeu.de/forum/mcr2013a.png).

Why not to use name "MatlabView" (or MatlabShow) for plugin? It's nicer IMO. "Matlab MAT-file viewer" gives impression that it's official Matlab part.

Unless MS Office with doc, xls etc. Matlab is not only MAT-file. Also MAT-file is not that well known in contrast to office file formats. Thus the name "MAT-file viewer" with prefix "MATLAB". And it is not official from The MathWorks but uses official file format API.
