list view

Post by *Becky »

1. hi. i mostly browse my files in the list view. is it possible to hide the file extensions? i just wanna see the file names.

2. another one, is it possible to turn off autosort of file lists. for example, i create a new file in the folder i am browsing in, i want the newly created file/s to stay initially at the end of the file list. is this possible with tc?

------

ive read around the wiki and the forum.

by the way, i read about the update policy, and i say i am impressed. seldom does one see such a generous and active software author.

thanks and good day. :)

I also think it isn't possible, but perhaps this will be enough for you:
Configuration->Options -> Tabstops -> Show file extensions = directly after filename

OK, there is a way to show the filename only.

You just have to define a custom columns view !

- Click with right mousebutton on the Name-header line (the one you use to sort by)
- Select item "Configure custom columns"
- Press "New" button
- Give it a name like "Name only"
- Set width to "5" for name and extension field (this is the minimum value)
- Press "Add column" button
- Enter "Name - 1000 - [=tc.name]" at the according field
- Enable "Horizontal scrollbar" option at the bottom
- Press Apply and OK

Done !

Ops. Yesterday, I wrote the next text in my sheet of TC, this is an "similar" solution.

Well, perhaps it is a dirty solution, but it do the trick.

Step 1: Step 2: Step 3:
  • Go to menu Configuration > Save position
Issues: The separation of columns work fine with my default font, If you have a different font, maybe you must change the separations of columns.

Handicaps:
- At begin of names, there are two dots overlayed with the names.
- The feature "adjust tabs to windows width" is disabled.
I can read English, but... I write like Tarzan. (sorry)
