Feature req: re-upload changed file to the ftp server
Ok, before you say it is implemented, consider this:
I use TextPad, many files are open in it, I edit a file with F4 on the ftp pane, save it, but don't close TextPad. TC checks the process, but apparently not the time stamp of the file in the temp folder. It would be nice if TC asked the question if I want to upload the changed file.
The drawback: anytime I switch to TC i get this question if I modified the file previously.
So the feature should be optional.
How about this idea?

I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!
That would be great! BUT: IMHO TC monitors the process of the editor [Textpad or whatever]. When the process dies, TC ask for the upload. The thing is, that I sometime edit files local and remote. If I have local files in my editor, and open remote file into the same instance, I have to close the editor with all the other files too. I have the workaround like this: double-click opens a files in TextPad and F4 opens with sciTE (very good editor IMHO). So I can close one or the other editor to make TC upload the file. But it would come very handy, if Christian could modify the upload behaviour by monitoring the timestamp and not the process of the editor.

Hello, SanskritFritz.
Fully support your request.
Use F4 a lot for editing files on Unix-based systems (vi is not really a friend of mine).

Karl

I also support this request! It would be very useful.
As a temporary solution, it's possible to use WebDrive tool: it allows to mount FTP-connections as new drives in the system, and when editing and saving the files, they are updated transparantly and immediately.

SUPPORT as well, it would definitely be more useful.
Now you have to close Textpad everytime you want to update the file and when you do web debugging with many open files it is really not very convenient.
So the improvement would be welcome.

I know one - FTPDrive, but I didn't try it (so, I'm even not sure if this tool does the same... ).

I have needed this thing a couple of times too so i support it. Indeed it doesn't seem so difficult and it shouldn't cause any problems in how TC works.
