Default locations in "Find Files: search in"

Post by *hablaras »

Hi,

Is it possible to set a permanent default for the "search in" box, via the wincmd.ini or otherwise?

I don't want it to fill it with my current location when I press alt+f7, but always with "c:\;d:\".

Regards,

You can remap Alt+F7 to a userdefined command that opens a saved search with the "Search in" setting of your liking.

Here is a recipe in 20 easy steps ;-) :

1. Press Alt+F7
2. Change "Search in" to "c:\;d:\"
3. Click the "Load/Save" Tab.
4. Click the Save button
5. Enter a name of your choice fx: "mysearch" (preferably no spaces in the name) and click OK
6. Close the Search dialog.
7. Enter cm_commandbrowser in the command line and press Enter
8. Scroll down to "usercmd.ini" in the bottom of the left side of the dialog.
9. Click the "New" button
10. Enter a name fx: "em_mysearch" and press OK
11. Click the magnifying glass next to the "Command" field
12. Scroll down to ""Commands with parameters" in the bottom of the left side of the dialog
13. Select the LOADSEARCH command on the right side, and click OK
14: In the "Command" field enter "mysearch" behind LOADSEARCH (space between the two), and click OK
15. Close the "Choose Command" dialog
16. Open "Configuration" -> "Misc." and in the "Redefine hotkeys" section click the "Alt +" box and choose F7 in the select box.
17. Click the magnifying glass next to the "Command" field
18. Scroll down to "usercmd.ini", choose "em_mysearch" in the right side and click OK
19: Click the green checkmark button back in the "Configuration" dialog and click OK
20. In the TC main window press Alt+F7 - voilà :-)
