Multi-Rename Tool - Change Default Values

Post by *egnm1969 »

Hi,
Is there anyway to change the default values for the DEFINE COUNTER section in MRT without having to create a seperate settings configuration for the options I want & then having to reload them everytime I use MRT ?
E.g. I always like to use the "2 digits" settings in DEFINE COUNTER instead of the default "1 digits"

Thanks

You can load saved searches with command LOADSEARCH <stored search>, in a button, etc...
You can also create a user-defined command with LOADSEARCH and then remap Alt+F7 to execute it.

Good answer, but I don't think that is what egnm1969 is asking about.

No, TC don't give the opportunity to change the defaults in MRT. Maybe it can be done with an AHK script.

This is something I've been asking for the last 5 updates at least I think, but it never seems to be considered necessary. I didn't think it would be too much to simply add a "save as default" option to the drop down box triggered by F2, but apparently it is.

@icfu - Thanks for the advice but that wasn't what i was talking about :-)

@petermad & DRP535 - That's what I feared was going to be the answer :-)

Bugger !! :) Ah well I'll just have to hope that Christian Ghisler decides one day to let us overwrite the default settings with our own choices, to make life simpler for everyone that uses the MRT regularly...

Thanks guys for all you help & advice...

Ed

Oops, well, just replace LOADSEARCH with LOADMRT and it will fit, as soon as ghisler implrements it. ;)

Anyway, the MRT can indeed be started with different default options with a few lines in AHK. If you are interested, just drop me a line.

Maybe if you drop a request in TC7 suggestions (English) it might help getting it implemented.

It will be in TC 7.5, it's already implemented here:
MULTIRENAME <saved rename parameters>

Unfortunately I can't really say when TC 7.5 will be released, the next release will be 7.04...

Well it maybe a long wait till v7.5 but frankly I think it'll be worth it :-) Thanks Christian for letting me (us) know if & when it was going to be implemented... you saved me having to drop a request in the "TC7 Suggestions" like Petermad said :-) Thanks for that idea too Petermad :-)
