Help format for Vista and Windows 7
WinHlp32.exe is not part of Vista, Server 2008 and Windows 7 any more, so it has to be downloaded and installed to see TC's help...
Is there any possibility to change help format for future versions of TC?

Totalcmd.chm
Or did you mean that the default installed help format should be the CHM?

I have considered to include CHM files by default, but they are practically useless in a network environment (when starting TC from a network drive) because of some Microsoft paranoia...

Just tried to run my TC7.50pb5 installation via a admin share (don't have access to a network at the moment):
A) TC configured to use CHM:
-> CHM help works fine, started from UNC path without any "Open file - security warning"
Maybe because Totalcmd.chm is automatically copied into the local %temp% path and started from this local path?
So i thought you already have worked on a solution about the security problem.
B) TC configured to use HLP (work's normally fine here with Vista x86 from local installation), started via UNC-path.
-> HLP gives the following message:
Ok, it may be different with an installation running from a mapped network drive.
Is there really such a big advantage of the HLP file format compared to CHM, especially if the client computer runs under vista or windows7?

Meanwhile you can use Totalcmd.chmhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/917607 wrote:Note At this time, there is no WinHlp32.exe download available for Windows 7 or for Windows Server 2008 R2. However, separate downloads for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 will be offered after the RTM versions of these products are available to public.

My workaround for opening .chm files from network location is to create a .zip file of the .chm. TC extracts/opens it then from local temporary folderghisler(Author) wrote:I have considered to include CHM files by default, but they are practically useless in a network environment (when starting TC from a network drive) because of some Microsoft paranoia...
Another workaround creates more insecureness by tweaking the registry and adding all (!) internal network locations to the local intranet zone but this is not useful in companies:

Nevertheless: chm help would be much appreciated
