only because C. Ghisler can write a good program that has Norton Origins does not mean you have to build an altar for him in your sleeping room. We are happy to hear your successes in Program testing and I hope you will continue your experiments . you should report the bug you have found to the developers and not to us. Additionally ME is one of the most complex programs I have seen so having bugs is quite normal for it.Thank you for the tip! It (version 3.4b build 1) really seems to be very capable compared with what I have tested! If it had not been you recommending it, I had not tested it at all, and if I had, I had not understood its power, because my first test happened to bump into it its worst bug I've encountered in it so far. I uninstalled it, but because I knew that it HAS to be good because you have recommended it, I installed it again continuing my experiments.

Exaggeration is yours, not mine. No use being cheeky. It is a cold plain fact that without good recommendations you waste your life testing whatever inferior programs you may find. Christian has proven his understanding by building up his program, and that's why the logic to study especially attentively the programs Christian uses, is very rational indeed.
First, I have reported it to them. Second, I do not wish you to fix it, but shouldn't other users, too, know where the culprits are? And someone might always know how to circumvent it. Forums are for this bilateral communication purpose, aren't they? You do not seem to like practical information shared?you should report the bug you have found to the developers and not to us.
hmm black dog you are even in the contibution page. I think though theres nothing i can not do with ME ? But I may be wrong. Looks like the advantage of TAR is that you have the cmdline right at hand after pressing scrolllock for whatever you prepare for yourself .
blackdog can I see you config.ini file to get some more ideas as listed in the help ?

"Win"+"`" in my case. Actually there are tones of advantages, I just can't imagine my work w/o TAR now. For example I visit this forum this way:
TC_forum|IEXPLORE|http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewforum.php?f=%s||3
So I just type "T", get "TC_forum" autocompletion, than type space and "3" to land in "Total Commander (English)". Possibilities are endless.[/face]

well i can also make makros with ME. Whatever TAR can do, ME can do too.
i could assign a shortkey to the forum with all the options TAR can do.
I think its the Interface that makes TAR interesting. Even to generate an alias is simple as you just rightclick on an .exe and you have the option to generate an alias.
I miss doing this on a webpage though.
damit i think of uninstalling my objectdock buttonbar because of tar
. (try it looks nice)

Sorry then, but what the hack is ME? %) Actually TAR have nothing to do with macroses, it is multipurpose quick launch tool with KBD input interface, oriented on user real time interaction. Actually I use History even more than Config - system by itself has many build-in "aliases" you can access via TAR.

Well, may be, this is your computer, your OS and your life %).

Yep, it is highly customizable and very convenient.

Well, it looks like we have different points of view on "Interface" term - I do not use TAR shell extenuation %).

hey no offence, everyone uses his PC differently, i was just expressing my thoughts how a little empty imput field can be astonishing. ME (macroexpress) is not comparable to TAR.
my dream of a perfect lets say GUI for the OS and that is how you use TAR and me ME, would be something like the " the brain" is. It has some great ideas but is completely useless for my usage although its quite some time i tried it.

Actually my goal was to share the feeling I experience using TAR with others and it looks like I succeed in some way :). It was nice to meet you.[/face]

I've been a mouser since I got my hands on one (except when using Unix shells, of course) but lately I've been getting interested in keyboard-oriented software. I've downloaded and installed this and so far I like it. Is there an English-language page I could use to keep informed of updates?Black Dog wrote:[face=courier]New version of TAR (4.5.2) released!!! Thanks for pointing this out.

You can switch the language of the main page to English. Anyway, I'll post here updates information to keep you in touch.
