Old focus rectangles remain with inactivefocus=1

Post by *MVV »

It is quite easy to reproduce. Enable this option and do the following:

1. Click any file in left panel.
2. Click any file in right panel.
3. Click another file in left panel.
4. Click another file in right panel.
5. If you wish, continue from step 3.

Every clicked file gets inactive focus rectangle and TC doesn't hide it when you click another file.

Also, if I specify inactive cursor color (e.g. $303030), only real one (after TC overlapping with another window) uses it, others get white-dashed rectangles.

It is reproducible with clean INI (just with mentioned option) in both brief and full modes.

TC 8x32 b8, XP SP3.

Can not confirm !
Using W7 x64 and TC x64 B8
The inactive cursor (dotted) is correct shown only on the last clicked file in every panel.

I had similar problem a few years ago and the video driver was the culprit. Could you try another version?

Horst.Epp, haven't tested with x64, try it with x32 as reported.

norfie², you're right, I haven't read that topic's first post entirely (it starts with other thing).

fleggy, ANOTHER VERSION?? There is no another version that supports this feature yet!

Tested it with x32, works as expected, no errors here

Bugs remains, TC just redraws panels. :)

Do you use Aero theme? Don't know, maybe it can't be reproduced with Aero or Win7 at all.

Yes, I use Aero Windows 7 Theme.

But I can reproduce your problems under Windows XP SP3 !

As I already reported elswhere (sorry):

Here It works fine in both x64 and x86 version under Windows 7 x64.

But under Windows XP SP3 32bit the current inactive cursor doesn't get removed when the cursor is moved with the mouse. it works OK if the cursor is moved with the keyboard (cursor up/down/end/home and then tab).

Yes, this is the same problem as
http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?p=233523#233523

It seems to happen on Windows XP, but not on Windows 7. In the next beta, I will explicitly redraw these items to get rid of the extra frame.

I usually could not reproduce anything like this in Windows 7.

However I once had 2 active cursors in the same panel. One fixed and one followed keyboard and mouse. Changing to the other panel or other applications did not remove the fixed active cursor. (I removed it by changing folders.)

Unfortunately I could not reproduce. Windows 7 Aero / TC8ß8x32.

Confirmed on WinXP Sp2.
We are not so S.M.A.R.T. as we imagine...

Hi, folks.

Problem initially reported by MVV reproduced and confirmed using
  • Total Commander 8.0ß8 (32-bit/64-bit) on
    Windows 2003 Std SP2, 64-bit
  • Total Commander 8.0ß8 (32-bit) on
    Wine v.1.2.3 (mimicking winXP SP4 behaviour) / Ubuntu 10.04.3 32-bit
Can no longer reproduce the problem using
  • Total Commander 8.0ß9 (32-bit/64-bit) on
    Windows 2003 Std SP2, 64-bit
  • Total Commander 8.0ß9 (32-bit) on
    Wine v.1.2.3 (mimicking winXP SP4 behaviour) / Ubuntu 10.04.3 32-bit
So the problem seems to have been fixed in Total Commander 8.0ß9 (32-bit/64-bit).

Cheers,
Karl
