set pull-down menu for numbered bookmarks behind text. not below.
Please note that numbered bookmarks
show the first few signs of the bookmarked line,
so it's fine to have a little bit more space here.

PostPosted: Wed Jun 13, 2012 7:06 am    Post subject: Caret position no longer saved Reply with quote

I recently updated the SynWrite TC plugin from an unknown older version.
I am currently using the SynWrite plugin v. 3.7.1400 with TC v. 8.0.

With my SynWrite update the 'caret position' is no longer saved under certain circumstances:
If a file is opened from a packed file, e.g. from whatever.ZIP, the caret position is not remembered (however this feature still works fine for files NOT opened from inside a archive).

I usually need to work with source code files from inside of archives and for many years I enjoyed to edit archived code-files without the requirement of unpacking and repacking the containers (TC can be configured to do this on dblclick).

Now I always need to scroll and to search for the last caret position manually, meanwhile pretty annoying with large files.
Any hope for help?

Thank you!

Even a hidden option in Syn.ini only would be very helpful for any user with a requirement to edit code files in archives (I believe there are quite many, just think of extensions for mobiles and browsers e.g. Firefox)

History again works seamlessly.

Please allow to make a suggestion:
For me the quick-search box is the best solution to jump between miscellaneous code positions (I prefer this over using bookmarks).
I remember that the old SynPlus from an unknown author had a quick-search history. Though SynWrite offers so many more useful features compared to the old SynPlus, I still miss it's quick-search history.

You might want to consider my suggestion if you're thinking about new features some time.

Please keep up the good work. Thanks!!

TC Plugins Manager still displays version 3.0.0.0 for Syn2.wlx. Can you please fix it?
