Skip Existing Files when Copying

Post by *AnthonyCian »

I will have copy projects which could copy about 500mb with many many files and folders, that's just one project. At times I have to abort the copy for whatever reasons. However, after the abort it it did copy files and folders, and for example it could be 200mb out of the 500.

Now when I want to resume the copy later, there is no way to skip existing files that were already copied. I like to suggest to add an option in the copy drop down menu to add "SKIP EXISTING FILES".

You have SKIP ALL, but would also need an option SKIP EXISTING...

And what would be the difference between "skip all" and "skip existing"? "Skip all" skips copying files if ones with same names exist in target directory.

TO MVV:
Okay got it. I took SKIP ALL meant it was going to skip everything and just come to a halt and not copy anything. I understand it now...
Thanks

Nice to hear that it is what you need. Actually, when overwrite confirmation appears, you have three choices: overwrite (copy new file over existing one), skip (leave existing file), cancel (abort operation). And first two also exist for all further confirmations within same operation.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

No, that's what "Cancel" is for. "Skip all" and "Overwrite all" only refers to files which already exist in the target panel.
