I'm running a fresh install of Windows 8.1 x64
I've installed Adobe Reader XI and it works fine and is the default PDF viewer.
If I double click on a PDF file within Total Commander 8.51a (x64) (elevated admin) Adobe Reader does not open any PDF file! but if I double click on any PDF file from Windows Explorer it opens no problem??
**Update**
After a short while the "Program Compatibility Troubleshooter" dialog box popped up asking if the program (TC) installed successfully. I clicked no and it then started looking for suggestions. It offered one that said it "needed more permissions"
I clicked yes and then TC worked fine opening the PDF's???
What could be the cause of this strange behaviour as I've never seen it before??
TIA Steve
Can't double click PDF from within Commander?

The problem is that you are running TC with elevated user rights. If Adobe Reader is already running (launched with normal user rights), and you try to open a document from TC with higher rights, Windows will block the communication between the two.

The best solution:
1. format C:
2. install TotalCmd
3. install Windows (optionally)
