Sort Folders ordered in between files?

I have used TC for sometime, and always have the Folders listed first (on top) and then the files. Was this always like that?
I mean, is it possible to include the Folders on the sort order criteria, the folders will be scattered around based on the type of sort order?

Something like this:

Africa.jpg
DATA-FOLDER
horse.jpg
landscape.jpg
PIC-FOLDER

Yes.

No, it's not. But you can sort directories like files by selecting Options > Display > Sorting directories > Like files (also by time).
