MP3 tag reader plug-in that works now that anytag doesn't
What's the plug-in of choice these days for just simply reading the ID3 tag information on an mp3 file when pressing F3 (View) in TC? This used to be a really simple & easy little enhancement handled by anytag, but now seems to be really difficult to get back now that anytag seems broken with TC v8.52a. What the solution now please?
I really need to be able to very quickly and easily look at ID3 tag information without the hassle of opening up the MP3 file in a separate program/editor.

It is strange that it doesn't work for you in 8.52a, there were no WLX API changes. And, I've just tried it and it works for me in TC 8.52a.
Is the plugin installed properly in your TC, and is your TC 32-bit since plugin is 32-bit only?
As for me, I would prefer some separate tiny tool instead of installing a plugin that changes default view (play) action for MP3 files...

Yes, 32bit version only. As for installed properly, I just double clicked on the ZIP file and accepted all the default settings as they were.MVV wrote:It is strange that it doesn't work for you in 8.52a, there were no WLX API changes. And, I've just tried it and it works for me in TC 8.52a.

Edit: Fixed. I had the wrong version 0.98 which was a different kind of plug-in. I deleted all that and reinstalled the 0.97 version instead and now it's working again.

It's a content plugin. It can be used in these places:
1. Commands - Search on the third page, e.g. to find songs with
specific tags.
2. View - Custom columns: It allows you to define columns of
your choice for the normal file lists
3. Configuration - options - thumbnails: Here you can define
fields (e.g. the resolution) to be shown under the thumbnails.
Not really useful for id3, more for exif.
4. Configuration - options - display - "+" button: Allows to define
hints (tooltips) when hovering with the mouse over a track.
5. Multi-rename tool

If you need a simple lister, you can use audio tag view it works for 32 and 64 bit.DRP535 wrote:Hmm, okay thanks. Not really of any use to me in that case.
If you also need player you can use Mmedia 2.62 ...
