Thank you.
On Marshmallow both commands works, there was no problem with remount, on N there were changes in system "boxes" (toolbox and toybox), as I read on that G+ link, so for that reason old command does not work.

Yes, I'm on beta.

Thank you again, your support is great ;)

OK, since I don't know the API level of Android N preview, I have enabled the new remount command in Android API level 23 (Marshmallow) and newer now. The beta is in the store, but it can take a few hours until everyone can get the update. Please let me know whether it helps or not!

If there are still informations seeked, although everything is currently working, here is an overview by chainfire on google+ about the changes in Android N and before regarding the remount system command.

I've come up on the same error (remount error /dev/block/platform/soc.0/f9824900.sdhci/by-name/system'->'/system': Device or resource busy) on my rooted nexus 6p with android nougat v7 (angler-nrd90u-factory-7c9b6a2b). I also have the latest version of the total commander.

TC is enabled for root actions, however, I can't edit the build.props file in /system

Any help would be appreciated.

@harr2969 I have same issue if I want to edit build.prop directly from system, but if I copy it into internal memory, change it and then copy it back, it works...
