F5/F6: Why is there a copy confirmation? How to Disable?

Post by *harrismail »

If I drag a file across from one pane to the other no dialog popup... but if I use the F5 (or copy button at the bottom) I get the dialog popup?

Is there any way I can stop this dialog from popping up for copy and move functions. I'm happy with a warning dialog if a file exists (overwrite warning) etc.

Oh well - I guess it's not possible - shame as I can understand if it's a move operation but a copy...!

It's just another one of lifes many dialog boxes to click.

Hi harrismail, just wait a 'lil bit longer, it's weekend, sun is shinning and such...

You could make your own command with DOS commands and TCs parameter.

Write that into usercmd.ini as [em_MyCopy] and assign F5 as hotkey.
Maybe call a batch (cmd, js, ahk, vbs, ps1) from that command to have more room for code
to differentiate folders and files, and write error handling in case existing files.

I guess there is already more info written somewhere deep in this forum....
