Well, you will be surprised but one can delete his own posts - you had about four and a half hours for that in this particular case.

So after all it still doesn't work with that distributive if I get you correctly? BTW, is everything OK with it? It can be damaged. Anyway, please give me the direct link to that distributive.[/face]

Basicly it works but not as i expected...

The sfx archive can be unpacked with no problems.

But the reasons for it i described in my post.

I don't get it, why i can't open a archive that is openable when i rename it into *.7z, or i add in the Packer, "exe" With the MARC ????

There must be somethig that i'm doing wrong or something else is or has to be changed.

Here is the link to a archive like i have, the others are the same...

http://downloads.guru3d.com/downloadget.php?id=829&file=5&evp=3a8191dbf7abc1f0d0552c22b685ac31

So i keep loking, if i can find why it can't be opened with [Ctrl+PageDn] in the "normal" configuration.

If you have ICQ than PM me we could talk about the prob, it could be a faster solving the problem.

Thanx, i'm beeing in touch

Hureyyy, i'm so happy, i acsidenty figured out how can i open the *.sfx from the 7z Packer.

Here is the deal, i've installed the WFX PluginManager 2.1 and when i had configured the MARC 7z Plugin and there was something "Detect archive from its contents or size" and it was not enabled, so i checked the box and it works.
Now when i open the *.exe SFX archive with [Ctrl+PgDn] it will open.

P.S. Where can i find in the MARC.ini the change that i have made with checking the BOX, i've compared it to the original and foun nothing ???
PLZ, i want to know...

You can access MARC's "Archiver capabilities" dialog w/o any PluginManager - just open "Pack files" dialog, chose "7z" in "Packer" dropdown, hit "Configure" (or execute "rundll32 your\path\to\multiarc.wcx,Settings") and hit "Change" button in "Configure MultiArc" dialog.

This is not about multiarc.ini, this is about wincmd.ini.[/face]

Hmm that's a good question but i think it is posible.

Maybe if you asociate *.exe with the 7z Plugin in MARC you could do this but im not sure try it out .

1. Download and set official configuration;
2. Open "Configure MultiArc" dialog, mark "%S parameter handling" checkbox, choose "For next command" from dropdown, hit "OK";
3. Start packing, in "MultiArc wanted info!!!" dialog choose "-sfx7zC.sfx" from dropdown (7zC.sfx SFX module should be located in the same directory as 7za.exe), hit "OK";
4. Change output file extension to "EXE".[/face]

When I try to pack a folder I get this two error messages:

Code: Select all

CONSPAWN.PIPE running error: %1 is no valid Win32 Application

Code: Select all

executed command 'c:\programme\7zip\7za.exe a -y -r0 -mx -sfx7zC.sfx d:\test\addon.7z @d:\temp\§mltwcx\lst35.tmp' returned errorlevel 656877351, which is higher than configured as normal for this command. Probably error occure. Check your configuration please.
I did import the latest (and above recommended) configuration for 7z. Any ideas?

Requiered SFX-Header file must reside in the same directory as 7za.exe.
Make sure that the Multiarc configuration holds the correct name of the
SFX-file you want to use, i.e. "7zC.sfx" for compressed windows SFX.

Here's a new Ini that uses the native 7-Zip GUI when creating a new archive or adding files to an existing one:

Code: Select all

; ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
; Archiver: 7-Zip
; Homepage: http://7-zip.org
; Addon   : v1.1, August 29 2007
; Author  : ZoSTeR, deus-ex
; Comments: Requires MultiArc v1.4 or higher
;           and 7-Zip v4.52 or higher
;
; This version uses the 7-Zip GUI for creating archives.
;
;           Required files:
;           7z.exe, 7zG.exe, 7z.dll, 7z.sfx (for selfextracting archives)
;
; For files with German umlauts -scsDOS is necessary
; If you get an error with other special characters try -scsWIN instead
; ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Make sure to edit the path to 7z.exe and 7zG.exe in all three places!

You also might want to add around fifty more "n" to the Format0 line which I removed for readability in the forum.
