I need a scheduled hangup program specifically
Try DUN Timed Disconnect . Small, simple, efficient, wonderful! 8)
Seriously, I've tried it with Windows XP and it's worked without a problem. There are some reports that it doesn't work ok with other OS, so you may have to try it yourself.

Enjoy,
Janus

IrfanView

Hi all,
back to the best supporting utilities for TC.
Well, what TC is for the explorer-file-directory management area

IrfanView

is for the media viewing area.

In my eyes it is by far the best, smallest and fastest image viewer around offering many many manipulation features like batch conversion and such. Go check it out if you haven't already. It's definitely worth a look.

Best regards,

Yep, completely agree with you, IView is the best and I guess you know you can integrate it into Commander for picture viewing - it was invaluable ability before WLX era. But now I use it mostly like separate program because of Imagine plugin. But I want Imagine looks and acts as much similar to IView as possible :). Actually I still have IView integrated as #2 picture viewer for some formats Imagine still has problems with and switch between them in Lister window/^Q panel with "4".[/face]

Two antispam programs that are said to be really good (probably the best of the freeware bunch) are K9 and Spamihilator.
I'm not using any of them, so I can't give you a first hand account. But you probably won't be dissapointed if you try them. Both use bayesian filtering and with time "learn" to distinguish spam from legitimate e-mail even better than when just installed.

Copy Handler program is a small tool designed for copy/move files and folders between different storage medias (hard disks, floppy disks, local networks, CD-ROMs and many other).

* copying data at 6-7 times faster than standard MS Windows copying (when copying data from one partiton to another on the same physical hard disk)

* allow full-control over the copying/moving process by pause, resume, restart and cancel features

* fully customizable - over 60 detailed options - from setting language (english and polish) through auto-resume on error, shutting down system after copying finished to very detailed and technical (customizing copy/move thread - buffer sizes, thread priority, ...) ending on sounds on specific events

* provides detailed informations about copy/move process (currect file, buffer sizes, priority, progress by size and visual bar, status, current and average speed, time elapsed/left, ...)

* auto resume all unfinished operations when system starts

* limiting count of simultaneously processing tasks (copyings/movings) - tasks are set into a queue and are processed in order it was inserted into queue

* integration with system - adds additional commands to context menus of folders and drag&drop menus (Copy by Copy Handler, Move by Copy Handler, Paste (Special) by Copy Handler, ...)

http://www.copyhandler.prv.pl/

I just installed this and it doesn't integrate as well with TC as well as I would have hoped. However, the program rocks and I sent the author a request for closer integration with TC. Of course, Christian would probably have to help with this, but since people have asked for improvements along this line (and the program is free), perhaps that is a possibility.

Well...some users already asked for this feature. I have already
written a mail to the author of Total Commander (it was called then
Windows Commander). Unfortunately the author is not interested-his
hint is to change CH so one can use it as a tool in a toolbar. It
would be only a partial solution in which I'm not quite interested. So
if you like you could write to the author of TC and try to talk with
him about this. Maybe you'll make hime interested ;)
So it's up to you, dedicated users. Take a look at the program and if it seems cool, clamor for it! If it seems people are interested, I'll create a poll

What's wrong with changing CH to accept command line parameters?

CopyHandler is buggy as hell, no good idea to use it, neither in Explorer nor in TC.

Just try to move some files out of the recycle bin. When you are lucky enough they will be restored with wrong filenames like "Dd11".
If CopyHandler has a bad day it will kick the files to Nirvana during moving process.

Thanks to the author of CopyHandler for destroying some of my files and good luck to all other testers.

Whatever you do, make a backup first. ;)

That was my thought. All executables should accept command line parameters appropriate to their functions. I can't think of any exceptions.

New version of PowerPro is out: http://powerpro.webeddie.com/index.html

Version 4.1 (September 2004)
(Note there was no version 3.9 or 4.0)

Configuration-affecting Changes

The implementation of favorite folder shortcut tracking has changed to be more reliable; if you use this feature you will need to change your configuration as documented here.

You can now use any character as an escape character in literal strings in expressions; if you used the quote character before, you may have to reset the character on Setup > Advanced > Chars.

The command line import and export of text files in pproconf.exe is no longer supported; use the new text figuration features instead to import text files directly into running powerpro.exe.

The wait message command now requires quotes around the message text.

New Features
Big improvements to help
You can import text configuration directly into PowerPro without using the configuration program at all. The format of text import and export has changed to ini format, and the command line import and export of text files in pproconf.exe is no longer supported
You can use plugin call syntax to run built-in commands and use variables and expressions without &().
You can use CL functions to work with command lists
File menus now have many more formatting options and can be shown from *Menu ShowFile.
Added wait for and wait until.
Auto completion is available for Exec CommandLine and for inputdefault function in expressions.

You can specify the days on which a scheduled event is run.
You can use Mouse buttons 4 and 5 as hot keys (W2K and later only).
Use ;; to put end of line comments on same line as a command in a script file.
window("vdesk", vdeskname) returns handle list of windows on virtual desk
With options checked on Setup, Advanced, Other, files dropped on command button run the command separately for each dropped file.
Right click menu for notes can optionally be 2-column and now includes entry for running selected text as script
You can show notes only when selected windows are active and foreground
You can set the tab size for notes
You can run a script each time a window or system event occurs anywhere on your system
You can use xxx*yyy to match captions starting with xxx and ending with yyy
Pickfile, inputdialog, input, and debug dialogs are now resizeable and rememeber size and location.
Use arg(0) to return the number of arguments.
You can use escape sequences 'xhh and 'dnnn in strings in expressions.
You can use && for & and || for |.
You can change the separator characters used in inputdialog
input prompt, input dialog, pick strings, tiny command line, debug window can now be resized and will remember their position and size
Do(...) functions can now take one, two, three, or four arguments
added Setup, Advanced, set standard configuration, and associated command Exec StandardConfiguration and keyword StandardConfiguration
Added *wait for which handles waits in nested scripts.
The Vdesk arrange window can now be configured to 3 by 2 instead of 3 by 3.
The wait message command has a changed syntax, to allow expressions to be used for the message text. If literal text is supplied, place it in quotes.
Use *Vdesk MoveAll from to caption_list to move all matching windows between specified desktops.

text manipulation

Post by *nimbus »

I am looking for a text tool that it will delete lines in many text in a directory. (for example; last 8 lines in every files). I found a software(textpipe) do that. it is wonderful text manipulating tool but there is a "trial" problem. Sounds will be good if there is an alternative program or way. All 60.000 files has same line at the end of it.And that all lines start "<" html tag indicator. I try to write regex with power grep search and replace in files utility, but I couln't done. (regex too difficult for me.) thanks for possible answers. I have to say something for a great text tool;
txtCollector.simple, free, fast and usefull. it merges (text, html, ini, log, etc) files in a directory as a one big file. Also you can need a file splitter too. So try this; Dariolius is a very nice file splitter as free. its extra feature is split file as equal parts.
