Expanded English menu

[face=courier]Total Commander Interface Pack Expansion

Archive contents:

Wcmd_exp_eng.mnu - Expanded English version of main menu for Total Commander 6.x;
Wcmd_exp_eng.lng - English language interface file for Total Commander 6.x with some interface improvements;
shortcuts.txt - [Shortcuts] wincmd.ini section for customized shortcuts support;
user.txt - [User] wincmd.ini section for customized menu functions support;
filters.txt - [Colors] and [Searches] sections (as a bonus %);
FAQ.txt - Answers for most frequently asked questions.

Disclaimer:

This menu orientated mostly on my needs and preferences so I suggest you, guys, to made you own at the first opportunity and of course you can modify it any way you like, but remember, all right on internal commands, their combinations and menu files belong to Mr. Christian Ghisler ;).

Features:

• All menu entries mapped to internal command numbers, not names, so menu works even w/o TOTALCMD.INC.

• All menu entries have accelerators.

• A lot of menu entries use additional KBD shortcuts and internal commands you can find in shortcuts.txt and user.txt. To make them work you have to add [user] and [shortcuts] section from shortcuts.txt and user.txt files to your wincmd.ini (it would be a good idea to close Commander first).

• This menu basically intended for NT-family operation systems.

• This is not an "all commands" menu (I suppose such an approach stupid and
cumbersome though tastes differ), but it contains most of TC internal commands.

• I tried not to redefine default shortcuts in shortcuts.txt to avoid any interference with default ones, the only exception I made - "F9"&"F10".

• You can make some interface improvements with Wcmd_exp_eng.lng (a lot of accelerators added/changed, "User" instead of "Start", "Alt+X Quit" instead of "Alt+F4 Exit" etc.).

• Color filters include time-based "Forge" scheme by HuKO/\Au KOPOBuH (seven filters, from 1 min to 2 days), "Filter for future" for files with incorrect date, filters for files with compressed and read only attributes, temporary files, etc.[/face]

I've got a CRC error while trying to unpack the file...

Unpack plugin : HA.cwx, 102400 bytes
File : Exp_eng.ha, 2976 bytes

Can't understand why...

Black Dog,
Nice to see you again! :)
BTW: We already have a thread about Menu files, http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=62 , if you don't mind that Panos started it.

Tsunulukai,
It's because your browser thinks it should download the file as ASCII... anyways, just copy the link, change to TC, Ctrl-N, paste, Enter and Enter.

I downloaded it with TC, but I'm unable to uncompress it. TC doesn't recognize it as archive (I don't have the HA packer) and UltimateZIP (that shoud support HA) give me CRC again.

Thank you for making this board postable for me ;). BTW, did you used the link I sent you or found some other solution?

Well, I suppose it rather expanded than extended. But you are welcome anyway, Christian :D. Do you use it or some other one? And didn't you change your mind about user's menu collection on your site?[/face]

Yes I did, thanks! I made some modifications to the mod, though. :)
It should now also work with spaces in the font name, e.g. "Times New Roman".

I use the standard menu, so it's easier for me to reply to support e-mails. Currently I don't have plans to add a custom menu section to my site, because people will then start to ask for translated versions too...

Well, actually you don't have to have it. As you probably know, Commander supports packers API. And one of the first plugins written was HA by Sergey Zharski. You can find appropriate link on Commander's homepage.[/face]

I have the HA plugin and I can't unpack it either.
I get a bunch of CRC errors and files with strange characters instead of the text files we expected. :cry:

This happens because the MIME type definition is wrong on Black Dog's server! He should change it to
application/x-ha-compressed
or something like that, Currently the browser thinks that it's a text file, and converts CR->CRLF.

Btw, if I download the file from TC with Ctrl+N, the archive can be unpacked just fine!

Couldn't you use a ZIP or RAR file? The file is so small that you only gain about 0.7k when using HA, but also get a lot of troubles. Please!

What gain?
I just ran a test on those files (exp. english menu) and got the following results:
Rar: 2,931bytes (solid, m5 etc...)
7z: 3,128b (not LZMA)
Ha: 2,976 (HSC)

So when is Ha better, if at all?

Exactly. Just have downloaded it and checked - it's OK.
Well, Christian, didn't you told such a menus are not for "average" users? So it looks like I do follow your policy and this is just a little test to tell (nothing personal, guys ;)).

g> 2Black Dog

Thank you for "2", I felt rather uncomfortable with something "@" me :).

[^Y]
g> Please!

What can I say, you are the person I just can't say no even w/o a "please".
So, here it is.[/face]

Well.. I guess you need a radiator with cooler on the top to complete the picture ;).

Of course I am, Jedi. Don't you know I'm always serious as hell... ;)[/face]
