[face=courier]icfu 1.0 updated> not responding... not responding... .illegal query... illeagal query....
update please.... update please....
bip[/face]

F*ck... those machines never work....
Should I try with human language ?

OK
This is what I am tinking for several months now.
I need an process explorer which will have standard as well some other functions:
* List of processes that finished execution with CPU histogram
* Persistant rules: I want to set rules to be executed as soon as process is seen (set position, size, priority, transparency, 4th button in caption, press THAT button... )

The point is, I don't want to have 10 applicastions taking up tray space and each doing 1/10th of full job and using 1/1 resources.... If I already have to monitor all processes why not making everything about them in one app. Most of the CPU part for proc explorer is due to constant monitoring and those addons will not slow done app if done properly.
Also I want to know EVERYTHING that was running on my PC even for a tiny part of a second, even if I am playing Heroes V fullscreen.

I am aware such app doesn't exist today, but if I am wrong update me.
Also, if anybody wants to be involved in developing such application I am ready to start. I already did a scheme...

I would certainly use AutoHotkey for this kind of task.
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!

It has to be done proffesionaly. It MUST be pro admin tool

Code: Select all

Process, Wait, notepad.exe
Do This and that

AutoHotkey is fast and pro.

Many of us here use AHK on the daily basis, it is loaded before TC on by PC! It proved to be very stable and fast.

You could combine WinTasks Pro from LIUtilities (which has a simple script language and a process log) with some other automation tool like AHK or AutoIt.

I will try AHK definitely. If you all say it is good, then it must be.

I don't know if you guys heard for Phantom but it is an very very nice work. You drop cursor on window and it will create object representing that window so it can be called for instance TotalCMD.SplashScreen.Button1.Press
I think this is unique out there. Just try console compiler version and you can automate everything. But it is slow, and doesn't have all function you need.

@ZoSTer
WinTasks Pro is junk, IMHO. Process Explorer must not be slow and must be fast.
We are not doing this just for the money.
We are doing it for sh*t load of money.

Well I was going to mention CLCL, but after getting thru to page 27 or so, I see it's already made the list.
Will put in my vote for MetaPad and ConTEXT as well.

I didn't see these listed:
Transparent - makes background text labels on desktop transparent, and changes text colour.
Homesite appears to be offline, listed a googled download.

allSnap - makes windows snap to each other, and/or to desktop borders, also can make desktop icons gridsnap.

IconShop - Excellent for browsing .exe,.dll,.icl files or easily creating new icon libraries.

I'm not so much later than your post but Transparent and allSnap are dead links. What a pity, I'm certainly interested. Going to google ...

Update:
found a valid link to allSnap

couldn't find an exact link for transparent; a similar program might be this.

Sorry, the allsnap link was working as of last month, and it had been at that page for the last few years.
I updated the allsnap link w/ a working link to the most recent 1.31b3 (1.3.1.5) Version
And updated Transparent to a working link I validated this time

Not sure if the link you provided is similiar, but its 980kb...Transparent is a ~50kb zip that has 4 different 25kb exe's depending on your usage preference.

Also Wizmo was mentioned in this list - for those of you that like it, try out Jimbug's exe2scr.scr - which allows you to use wizmo as a screensaver.

allSnap

Transparent is not needed under XP in case you don't know that, anyway, here is another alternative:
Iconoid (save icon positions and more)

(Edited, overlooked the updated posting from Balderstrom) ;)
