to Wiki Managers: I'd like to add Chinese Simplified texts

Post by *xbeta »

I bought TC.
I love it.
There is also a Chines forum of TC at http://www.newsmth.net/bbsdoc.php?board=TotalCommander

the people there now are planning to translate faqs and turtorials into Chinese simplified. and add it to the TC wiki.

I have add some of them on http://www.ghisler.ch/wiki/index.php/FAQ
may be it's better to add a link in "other language"

Please do not continue corrupting the Wiki with language mixes on one site, it looks terrible. Just imagine how it would look if more languages get added, a complete chaos. So, please revert the changes.

Maybe ghisler will add Chinese as another language so you can use "other language" links.

Hi and wellcome xbeta!
I have added some user templates and a chinese user category. I just have started to create a chinese FAQ -page, but it still need a make over. You will need to MOVE the page to the right place, because I don't know the right chinese title. I added so called interwiki -links into de (german) and en (english) in the existing pages.
You can set your language in the:
http://www.ghisler.ch/wiki/index.php/Special:Preferences

Please look into the Wiki -discussion of the Total Commander FAQ.

Some usefull (chinese) links for translation in the Wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interlanguage_link
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Babel
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Babel
http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E9%A6%96%E9%A1%B5

Hi xbeta,
thanks for removing chinese links from english FAQ-page!
I have just asked for installing simplified chinese to the Total Commander Wiki.
But I remember the "fight" for installing german language, it will surely take some time. :)
After install, you will have "chinese" inside the navigation bar under "Other languages".

How to add your language level to your user page

Adding this code into your Wiki user page will create a cool diagram and makes your appear into the right categories and translation pages:

Code: Select all

{{babel-2 | zh | en-3 | }}
Kind regards
Stance

I'm sorry but I will not add additional Wikis like the German wiki. Why? Since I'm the hoster, I'm responsible also for the content. Therefore I have to understand the language. Therefore I suggest that if someone wants to write his own Wiki in another language, he should host it himself, but place a link on the English Wiki so people know about it.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi xbeta!
You could add a link to the chinese Total Commander Forum into that page: Weblinks.
Maybe the Korean Total Commander Wiki has allready installed simplified chinese language?

Kind regards

Thanks to Stance ghisler icfu and sheepdog.
All replies are for the same purpose, that is to promote TC better.
So I can understand that.
We are trying to build a Chinese wiki for TC, now is tccn.pbwiki.com
it's still under construction.
when finished, add link to here surely.

to ghisler
we finished most of the http://www.ghisler.com translation to Chinese.
http://tccn.pbwiki.com

it's a pity that it doesn't look like other TC wiki or www.ghisler.com

there is a TC forum here http://www.newsmth.net/frames.html?mainurl=/bbsdoc.php%3Fboard%3DTotalCommander%26ftype%3D6
