[REQ] %MAIN_INI% and %FTP_INI% for locating TC's INI files

Post by *Flint »

Sorry if this has already been suggested earlier, but I've searched and found nothing.

The request is: to add two new local environment variables %MAIN_INI% and %FTP_INI% that will point to the location of wincmd.ini and wcx_ftp.ini files that TC is currently using. (They should be local for every TC instance and its child processes, just like %COMMANDER_PATH%.)

This would be very helpful for external tools that wish to work with TC's settings, and this must be very easy to implement.

I support your request, but with a slight change, I would call them

Code: Select all

TOTAL_COMMANDER_MAIN_INI
and

Code: Select all

TOTAL_COMMANDER_FTP_INI
to avoid any name clash.

/Edit/

And this makes multi user environment customization so much easier.

Good idea! If it had to be a bit shorter, they could also be named %TC_MAIN_INI% and %TC_FTP_INI%

Good idea, but names must be not so general. better:
%TC_INI% and %TC_INI2% (or %TC_INI_FTP%).
