Not sure if this should be here, but I found one other crash

Post by *tmcdos »

May be this should be posted to another thread, but anyway.
There is a following situation:
I'm downloading file with Opera 8.53, the file is downloaded at half. It is a ZIP archive. I try to look inside using the built-in feature in TC (double click on the ZIP file).
I can see what files are inside the ZIP. But if I try to extract
them, TC crashes.
I do not know whether this is because of bug in TC, or in Opera.
There is a shortcut for this, located here

RAR files aren't unpacked by TC itself, but by the unrar.dll from the RAR author. Please send me the problematic file by e-mail if it's smaller than 200k, otherwise please put it on rapidshare or similar and send me the download link, so I can test where the problem is. If the problem is in unrar.dll, I will contact the RAR author. Thanks!

He was speaking about a ZIP file, not RAR.

the file is downloaded at half
Hm, I'm not sure if I get you right: did you try to extract the file out of the archive while the download was still in progress? I ask because you can view the contents of a partially downloaded archive, but extracting is not possible until the file is completed.

I can reproduce this issue practically "on demand". When I'm using F6 to move a folder w/contents, then switch to other application, TC often crashes when the operation is completed (the folder with contents are moved to their new location and removed from the source.)

Don't know if it's related, but only seems to occur when I'm moving data between two USB devices (from a SanDisk Cruzer Micro 2GB to a Lacie Mobile (USB powered only) 40GB)

System info:
Windows XP SP2 w/latest updates
Dell Latitude D610
Pentium M 2.0Ghz
1 GB RAM
TC 6.54a

The copy in background access violation is known, and should be fixed in TC 6.55 (please test when the public beta comes out). Unfortunately I couldn't reproduce it myself, but a user who has this problem has confirmed that it's gone with TC 6.55 beta.
