TC hangs after remove cd/dvd

Post by *henkvu »

When you select a cd rom drive in TC without having in CD/DVD in it you get a warning and you're able to select another drive.
When i have a cd rom drive selected and remove the cd (while still selected in TC) then TC hangs, and even can not be closed in the task manager.
I have to add that i have dissabled autoplay and auto access to CD rom.
Any solutions ?

Thanks
Henk

I also saw how TC hangs after CD-ROM removal.
This is some kind of a bug...

If I'm not mistaken, some users managed to eliminate this bug by explicit setting DriveIsCD=<drives-list> in wincmd.ini. Try it, maybe it will help...

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce this error - TC just jumps to drive C: here as it should, on all operating systems I tried.

You can turn off device change notification in Total Commander to avoid that TC reacts automatically to drive changes.

Please add the following string to the file wincmd.ini, section [Configuration]:
DeviceChange=0

You can edit the wincmd.ini via Configuration - Change settings files directly.

However, you will then need to press Ctrl+R or F2 to show/hide arriving/removed drives.
