Can I get the colors and fonts to look like Windows Explorer

Post by *iridius »

Can I get the colors and fonts to look like Windows Explorer easily, I was thinking there might be some kind of scheme or settings file that I could download to do this, because although Total Commander destroys Windows Explorer in performance I find it hard on the eyes.

thanks

Hi,

Windows Explorer uses Windows font settings. There is no way to automatically apply this settings to TC. You have to apply them manually in the font config page in TC. On Windows XP this is by default Tahoma, 8, standard.

:) Hello, Welcome on board !

• All fonts are configurable from the Options… and in Lister,
- The title bar uses the current Win theme and its colours.
- The Menus use the Win font¦BG-colour of Windows
- The BG of the panels can be chosen in the Options.
- Alternate colours are planned for the next version ;)
- Kind advice : Please, try to forget Explorer as so soon as possible ! :D
- You might give a glance in the illustrated free Tutorial, link in my signature below…

 Kind regards,
Claude

The tahoma font is a great step in the right direction (for me) any other suggestions that might make it look a little more like the Explorer window?
The fonts and pictures (icons and toolbar) in Explorer are much smoother and clearer, is there any way to fix this too? Also I usually use a full-screen view is this available?

thanks

:) The buttons and the icons in the file-lists can be configured at will…
- You can enlarge one panel up to 100% if needed.
- Please, don't stick your feeling to the default settings which are rather "poor" currently.

- Again, please Read The Famous Manual and click on the items of the interface, follow the (numerous!) links, watch the captures…
…and press the "Clear Explorer memory" button in your brain !

Iridius,
Everything Clo said, and definitely check out the TC screenshot thread for some inspiration, if you need it. http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=5098

:) Hello !

• You caught my thoughts too ! Thanks to find out that famous huge thread, I missed time to search…

- Anyway, it's a long task to get a TC accorded to your own tastes…
…and the docs are to read; the wished configuration'll not come with a wave of the magic wand !
