dllee:

The unreliable support for portable use of total7zip is not related to linking the plugin. It has to do with how total7zip stores it's settings and interoperates with 7zip (registry). I discussed this in the total7zip thread, and the outcome was that there is no clean fix for this without changes to 7zip itself.

So, i will be using your plugin regardless of which fixes and features get added to total7zip.

unfortunately, unless Total commander starts getting built with large address aware, the 7zip plugin is useless for large files.

I tested to compress 2 DVD iso, each one's size is 4,477,517,980 bytes, and they can be compressed by 7zip.
It is really slow in progress, but it can be done :)

There is a 7-Zip SFX with a digital signature. Archiver 7-Zip refuses to update it. That's right! Your plugin that SFX updating and removes the digital signature. This is not right!
You can plugin this behavior correct?

gora, it is impossible to modify a file and keep its digital signature in good state, it is the goal of signature to detect file modifications after signing. You must have secret key to resign file after modification. W/o key the best you can do is to remove signature because it is better than leave bad one.

You misunderstood me. Excuse my bad English. : (
Plugin does not have to update SFX, if SFX has a digital signature!

I've tried to delete a file from your SFX archive, all works like it should - file is modified and signature is removed because it gets bad after modification anyway (so plugin removes wrong signature).

The plug-in has no right to update SFX if SFX has the digital signature!

A-h, now I understood you, you mean that plugin shouldn't change signed file. :)
Well, I don't see any reason in such restriction, sometimes it may be useful to remove signature automatically (BTW, 7-Zip error message tells nothing). The only thing I would add - a warning with question allowing to cancel modification or to remove signature and continue.

I don't use SFX, only using 7z for backup files.

2gora : How to add the signature to the SFX?

Wow, it needs to install "Windows SDK" to get the util signtool.exe.... Can you give me a sample file?

If 7-Zip Archiver will check the signature of SFX before modify it, I will check the source of the 7-Zip Archiver for this.
