Me too. It is very useless to me (at least)....
Basicly, it only extends (alt)PRTSCR with couple of borring effects.
I was hopping to see iregular shapes and stuff like that....
I guess it took 1 hour to make this program. You have free library to those effects and you can copy DC with one API function. I don't see how that can be useful. On the other hand, iregular shapes are useful, and also easy to implement via region API's.
But , oh my God, I don't want to interfere with your computer style. I just stated my opinion and my arguments for it.
We are not doing this just for the money.
We are doing it for sh*t load of money.
The problem is that there are always too few people sitting down for one hour creating such a clean and simple program but always way too much people having nothing better to do than complaining about other people sitting down for an hour.
I was hopping to see iregular shapes and stuff like that....
Try emailing the author or registering in his forum, I am sure that he is open for improvements regarding that this is just the first public version.
If you can name a free alternative to WSM that shows a preview pic and autoconverts and autosaves screenshots to PNG, offers hotkey support and some of the other goodies, and I mean a clean and simple app, please name it here and you will win a cookie.
Of course you can disagree, but if you don't have anything better to offer as a replacement and your only reason besides
It is preaty useless if you ask me.
why you don't like the app is because it can be coded in one hour (really?) and is missing picture processing features YOU need, what's the deeper sense? I am not the author, move your ass and contact him and tell him that his app sucks, I am sure he will gladly help you out.
For me the most important function of every screenshot app is autoconversion to different formats and autosave, not image processing, and this app does it in a simple GUI very comfortably without any offensive gimmicks but useful functions like direct email.
Oh, come on, you are a big boy. You cannot expect me to agree on "this app sucks" criticism style, this is not my job because I cannot change the app so it fits your needs.
You have thrown so much mud on me in the past and despite that I am still talking to you, no person being "vain" would do that, actually.
Thanks for the link, I have added it to the list of mirrors.

Unfortunately, the "Autosave" function is disabled in the current beta version of WinSnap (confirmed by the author)
Nevertheless: WinSnap looks very promising!
Until "Autosave" is implemented in WinSnap, I keep on using
IrfanView for making screenies from desktop-apps (PNG-autosave works fine there) and
UOSU (Ultima Online Screenshot Utility) for making screenshots from games.
