[BUG?] Cannot find Append button in Overwrite Confirm dialog

Post by *pmod »

In much older versions of TC (4.52 for example) I used to join two or more files by copying one over another. In the Overwrite confirmation dialog, which immediately popped up, there was an Append button, which allowed me to append one file to the end of another.

I can't find the Append button any more.

I know there are more ways to merge files, but not as smart as this.
Is there any way to get the Append button back?

Confirmed

Although the TC helpfile still tells us we could select to "Append" the source file to the end of the target file, there is not button "Append" in the Overwrite Confirmation dialog box.
Tested on TC 6.54a.

No idea in which version the button got lost. :?

Maybe, you are using compatibility mode. Turn it off, and the Append button will return back. :)

Confirmed!

Flint, you won an extra large beer :D

That's it.
When I tested it the source file was on my USB stick (compatibility mode) and the target was on my harddisk (TC mode).
So if either source or target drive are using compatibility mode, then the Append button will not be shown.
Repeated the same test, this time source and target files were on my harddisk, and yeah, the Append button is there.

Thanks a lot.
