[BUG] CTRL+F3 when comparing files at synchronize directorie

Post by *tc_forum »

Hello!

Maybe it's a bug or maybe not, but CTRL+F3 is working strange when you compare 2 directories and they have also some unique files.

If you try to compare one file which exists only in one directory, the first time you use CTRL+F3 or double click on the file, it works and it says that the other file was not found, but it still opens the compare window.

If you try to compare again one file which exists only in one directory, CTRL+F3 does NOT work anymore (it's grayed when you right click) and you can NOT use it again until you compare a file which exists in both directories.

This was working in version 6.03 and maybe even 6.50, but since then it's not working anymore.
It's very helpful to use CTRL+F3 even when you have only one file present because you can choose the other file in the compare window (for example a backup .bak file), so please fix this problem.

Thanks!

Sorry but I don't know about Ctrl+F3 shortcut in dependance to Compare by content.

Here Ctrl+F3 sorts the active panel by extension.

Can you describe exactly what you do (when press Ctrl +F3) and what you expect to happen?

I can confirm that the action performed when pressing Ctrl+F3 is not always the same when pressing the hotkey multiple times - very strange. I wasn't really able to find a pattern why sometimes the compare window is displayed, sometimes the Lister window and something nothing happended.

It also seems to behave differently when one of the panels shows the content of an archive compared to only regular files in both panels.

Also, if I have used the right MOUSE click over a unique file (where the Ctrl+F3 option is grayed out) then Ctrl+F3 pressed on the KEYBOARD has no effect. But if I haven't used the mouse right click, then Ctrl+F3 opens the Compare by content window with two empty panels and a dialog box saying that the left or the right file is not found.

[BUG] CTRL+F3 for comparing files not working since ver 6.52

Post by *tc_forum »

I just tried some other older versions and it seems the last version where it was running was 6.51.
Since version 6.52 (including), the CTRL+F3 for comparing files seems to be buggy.
Maybe this info helps for a quicker localization of the problem.
