Sort by date then extension

Post by *Matrix »

Is it possible to sort the files in the corresponding directory using the selected file property sequence:

Sort the files by their creation date and time then sort the files by name.

Are there any variables avaialble with the sort command?

This can't be done by now but multi-column-sorting has already been requested (here among other threads)

Maybe this will be available in TC 7, at least the author showed interest for that in a german thread...

thank you, can see much has been talked about already, although cannot read german.

the bit from flint in english mentioned control keys/mouse functions. I think this would be even more efficent as a command line interface with use of hotkey or button

this is definantley required. common sorting methods are ok but more flexiblity is a must!!!

cheers

You can create custom column where a file date is concatenaded with an extension or name
