It supports what standard TC dirmenu supports + a few things more. This implies that yes, you may use variables with it.

fav menu not recognise chinese

Post by *buda »

Hi,how to make fav menu work with chinese filename?
now when filename is in chinese then fav menu will skip it altogether,therefore cannot go directly to the target from the menu .Can it be edited so that to make it work with chinese encoding?

Thanks in advance

Its not possible.

AutoHotKey in which FM3 is implemented doesn't support Unicode.

Greetings
I'm on WinXP Pro, Word 2002.

Many thanks for FavMenu which looks really interesting.
It's working more or less ok, except that it keeps jumping to TC from open Word dialogs (Save as & Open file).

This seems to have been raised before by TealC on June 1 2006.
The Start/Run/Browse procedure or the opening of a file from TC fails because the dialogue box is still open in Word....

Any thoughts?

many thanks

Sorry, with reference. to my post above

I've just discovered it works fine in OpenOffice Writer. Why not in Word?

Both Word and OOo are in French locales

just another reason to move to OOo!
Robert
ps - Am I supposed to be putting a subject line in?

I didn't say Word2002 is supported, check out the list

Office 2003, 2007 are supported. :)

The reason is that Office doesn't have standard OpenSave dialog box.

However supporting Office 2002 may be trivial thing. Roentgen just changed one line in the code to support 2007, perhaps you can do the same.

okay thanks.
I did not understand: "....within system dialogs (Open/Save, Browse For Folder, Office2003 dialogs)".
I understood: "...as well as Office2003 dialogues".

thanks anyway
Robert

ps Roentgen - maybe you can point me to your post on this; my search did not come up with anything.

There was no post, but private communication.

He changed first line in inc\messages.ahk

Code: Select all

FavMenu_cOffice = bosa_sdm_Microsoft Office Word 11.0,bosa_sdm_Mso96,bosa_sdm_XL9,bosa_sdm_Microsoft Office Word 12.0
He added last sentence in comma delimited array of sentences. That is the class of Office dialogs for different office versions and applications. To discover class you need to use WinSpy that comes with Autohotkey or some other similar tool.

I'm totally new to FavFolder, so forgive me if this has already been discussed, but both FavFolder 2.0 and 3b1 chopped my TC menu in wincmd.ini. Upon further inspection, it seems that FavFolder requires the first menu entry to have subentries. My current menu:

Code: Select all

menu1=TEMP
cmd1=cd %TEMP%
menu2=c:\temp
cmd2=cd c:\temp
menu3=root
cmd3=cd %root%\
menu4=root2
cmd4=cd %root2%\
menu5=docs
cmd5=cd %docs%
menu6=--
menu7=-projects
menu8=library
cmd8=cd %docs%\library
is rendered inccorrectly, with the "projects" section missing. But if I change the first line to menu1=-TEMP, making it an item with subitems, then the rest of my menu shows up, including the "projects" section.
