You are right, the saving of the un-UPX-ed file was blocked by a running Imagine64.dll

It often happens to me that Imagine64.dll get stuck, locked by TC and/or Explorer, even after TC has been shut down and restarted. - I never encounter that with Imagine.dll

Imagine has undergone a silent update: Imagine.dll and Imagine64.dll have been changed.
Plus WebP plugin now has version 0.2.0 and is dated 2023-10-31.
Those who use un-UPXed versions, need to re-un-UPX these files :)

It is only the Polish.lng file that has been changed, not the .dll files.

Plus WebP plugin now has version 0.2.0 and is dated 2023-10-31.

This is indeed a new version.

Re-download https://tcmd.madsenworld.dk/plugins/Imagine/Imagine134-un-UPXed.zip for updated unUPX'ed WebP.plg* files.

Oh, apparently, I came to that idea by comparing packed Imagine DLLs with unpacked ones.

Very strange. For the first time, Windows 10 Defender reports "Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.B!ml" and quarantine Imagine.exe. It doesn't before, at least in the previous ten versions. It's obvious a false positive in this latest version. I hope.

No problem here on Windows 10.
Compute checksum and post here.
Note that there is no real difference 1.3.4 vs 1.3.5, only date time stamp, checksum, and version info.
You can even copy Imagine.exe from older version and properly run new version as a real engine is IMAGINE.DLL

Under Windows 10 22H2 with Defender Security intelligence version 1.401.450.0 finds a virus threat but only in the Ansi version of Imagine.exe, not in the Unicode version.

Under Windows 7 with Microsoft Security Essentials virus definition version 1.401.450.0 (same as Defender) does NOT find any virus in Imagine.exe (Ansi version).

Under Windows 10 it is only if I scan the Imagine_1.3.5.zip file that I get warnings, not if I copy Imagine.exe from another computer and scan it..

Wacatac.B!ml is a false positive. Here Total Commander itself was detected as Wacatac.B!ml when I tried to create a self-extracting ZIP archive. This doesn't seem to happen any more. If you search Wacatac.B!ml with Google, you will find a lot of reports of false positives.
