The solution I mentioned above is not OK for you?
Do you mean the last part of your previous message (http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?p=287138#287138):
You should use it step by step, switching the drives:
a) "xcd d:test" - brings all "test" on d:\
b) press "h" (not! in the search field) - you will get all "test" on "h:\"
It has really made my work mush easier (thanks again for this supertrick for switching partitions on-the-fly I was not acknowledged about!).

However there remain some less significant, but considerable disadvantages:

1) It does not give output as a full holistic folders list of folders on all partitions I wish to check. I get at the first the list for D: partition, than I need to go further to H: partition, than to K: partition, than back to D:, as I don't remember anymore, what exactly those folders were there what I saw two steps before...

2) It needs several additional keystrokes every time to start XCD and more keystrokes than to jump in XCD window to all other partitions one by one forward and backward in order to understand, which of these folders is this one I search for.

3) Sometimes it jumps directly to the folder on the target partition (providing, that the option "Immediately change to folder if only one match was found" is enabled), thus I have no any option to try search for folders withe the same names on other drives.

I'm sorry that I can help you for these topics. Maybe the author or another specialist can add a comment - after they are back from summer-holidays

After a long time of using the tool I tried to reactivate the option

Directory Select Only:
Instead of changing into the selected directory, change to the parent of the selected directory. The cursor remains on the directory.

But it is greyed out, and also "Shift+Doubleclick" does not select the folder, but it jumps into the folder. I use the current version from Febr. 2015

Bug or feature?

How does XCD handle Junctions and Symlinks?

On a Win 7 x64 PC, I tried to refresh the treeinfo.wc and it crashed with 1.000.000 entries .....

I don't see the benefit of using XCD as we have Everything or Hddb like tools
and even Everything in TC.

OT: In fact this was not my question, but nevertheless - I don't want to miss it. One of my favourite tools for TC ...
