|
|
I know there will be another version of autocomplete, put I post this anyway, maybe it helps.
It is also possible, that this bug was reported already, as it seems too problemous to me, but i could not find anything in the forum, so here it is:
Press F6 on a file. Start the autocomplete with a backslash, there will be all files and folder listed in the current folder. Select a folder, and press backslash again, and press ok. The file will be moved to the folder but it is recreated in the root.
An example:
c:\folder1\file1.txt
c:\folder1\subfolder1\
F6 on file1.txt, \subfolder1 is proposed by the autocomplete, so I write \subfolder1\
the result is:
c:\subfolder1\file1.txt
c:\folder1\
c:\folder1\subfolder1\ _________________ I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!

Your bug report came after Beta 3 had been finished - see Help - About Total Commander (10. January 2007).
However, I still don't understand your report. You write that you started typing a path with a backslash. This means that the target is the root, so it's no wonder that the file will go to the root. Try typing
.\
to see suggestions for the current dir. _________________ Author of Total Commander

The autocomplete shows the contents of the current dir if typing \, while the copy function interprets \ as the root of the drive. It's a bug in autocomplete function. Only the .\ should show the contents of the current dir. _________________ TC for Linux please! |

Ah, now I understand. I will try to correct the auto-complete function. _________________ Author of Total Commander
