It would be nice if using the OPENBAR command without applying any file name would simply open the bar that is currently set up as the default bar in the [Buttonbar] section of wincmd.ini

Smile Hello Peter !

• Personally, I dislike the notion of “Default” for the button-bars…

- Whether your proposal could stand for the first bar according to the numbered¦alpha order, I would support it…

- I explained this again in THAT THREAD (please see also the following messages).

That would be fine with me too - but right now we don't have a numbered¦alpha order bar system, so until we have that I would be satisfied if OPENBAR without file name would just open the bar found in wincmd.ini in the section [Buttonbar] under the item Buttonbar= .

Hello!
Petermad has created a set of menu -files for v7 (Beta4).
One can switch now to another buttonbar from these menus by using user-commands.
The Extended Menus for TC7 beta4 comes with 3 extra bars:
A complete System-bar for XP Prof, XP-bar with general windows applications and a Internal Commands Button Bar.

I´m missing one feature right now: The active item for bars isn't shown in the menu with a [x] -button.
Petermad is using a user-command "em_bar0" to turn back to the Default Button Bar.

Here is my suggestion: Lets have a predefined (hardcoded) set of names for the button bars. "em_bar0" - "em_bar20" or for example "wincmd_ext_3_eng.bar".

Whenever TC find a set of bars with this names (or user-commands), it will show checkmarks in the menu for it and will remember the last used bar after restart.

I Think that the ability to have some pseudo variable like %B* %B1 %B2 %B3 %B4 that point to :
%B* Default, principal bar
%B1 the previous bar
%B2 the previous previous bar
...
or having the bar numbers as suggest Clo are major enhancement for OPENBAR and BAR management.

The request made by petermad is the minimal modification request in order to be able to set the principal/default bar using a command.

thanks for your solution in: [pb4] OPENBAR from cmdline doesn't work.
So you know C.Ghislers statement about commands with parameters.

Clo made here another Feature request: different icon-size per bar if using 2 bars
Well, we have got br2 -files now!

This forum is the right place to discuss about pro's and contras of a request.
My thoughts about this request are somehow extended (and selfish Smile).
I don't want to use no more workarounds. And I don't want documentations hidden & buried in the forum.
