Extended icons by default

Total Commander comes with icons for some internal commands. They can be used in the button bar and in the main menu. Totla Commander automatically uses the icon for a command if available.
There is also an extended icon library available which adds icons for more commands and includes 48² icons. I think it's worth thinking about adding the extended icon library to the default package. I have included the additional package size in the answers.

Default icon library: 56 icons
Extended icon library: 87 icons

To get an impressions of the extended lib you can take a look at this screenshot:

(The screenshot is quite old. The current versions includes even more icons!)

IMO the 48² icons could stripped if necessary and supplied in the extended lib to keep the installer small, but the icons of the extended lib should definitely be included by default.

Just to make it clear: I don't say that because the icons are my work, but because I consider it as useful to have a wide variety of icons for internal commands, for use on a customized buttonbar. In addition, the menu with icons looks a bit more 'well-balanced' with the extended icon set IMO.

The extended icon library should be included by default.
I installed tc7rc3 on a friends computer a few days ago and missed some icons. At first I did not think about the extended library I use at home. And when I thought about it, it took me quite some time before I found them in.the forum.

Greetings,
Henrie

We miss the traditional option «I don't care» The democracy is also the right to have not any opinion when not concerned, and the possibility to express that, though…

I completely agree.

Well in a few days you have the opportunity to elect "I don't care" instead of a new president. :P

About TC installer size: when it gets half the size of ahead nero installer I'll start to care.

At least for TC beginners it is very useful to have an almost full set of matching default icons for internal commands included.
They usually don't know that there is an extended one ... nor how to install it ... (though it is simple, you even have to know about it)

My vote for : "include it by default"

I vote when it does matter

:) Hello Christian !

• Nothing to do with our TC, icons and the whole caboodle
- So, I'll vote for a new president, that'll cost me 3 km footing to go and back,
because my home is located just at the border of a section which the polling station is pretty far and twisted to reach…

While poor Clo is still on his way to the polling booth, I viciously clicked on the first option without having to do 1 single step.

For me its absolutely necessary to implement more or better all icons for all commands. If someone wants to use a command without icon, he has to use an alternative icon library, take any non fitting icon, or has to create new icon by himself.
I created several icons for that reason and I would prefer to take an existing one.

The times are over when it was nice that TC fit on one floppy disk, so I would generally be in favour of including useful stuff in the standard setup, such as extended icons.
