Hi,

can TC Pocket be used to install/mount a permanent network drive?

E.g. map network folder "\\storage-lan\musik" to local path "\Music-Net" ? (permanently or at least until the next reset)

Or is there any other way to do this with WM5 onboard means?

Regards,
Georg

No, this isn't possible. A device driver would be needed to achieve that, but the creation of file system drivers is not documented by Microsoft.

You can add often used shares to the directory hotlist: Just double tap on the current path!

I am confident that this can be done much easier than it seems! Cool

I observed that PocketLAN or even PocketMusic is doing this (create a permanent network path) - and even when used (mixed) together it works perfectly. I don't think both install their own (or the same) device driver. I rather assume that the "mapped network drive" is build into WM5 and only needs to be triggered properly.

Maybe it is worth having a look at it! Might be interesting - and a very useful addition.

Thanks and Regards,
