B not always floppy

Post by *henri_eggert_s »

you have selected : "show icons on the left of the filename"
and "EXE/LNK not on floppy"

now map a directory from c: to b: ( subst b: c:\somedir )

total commander still thinks that b is a floppy and does not show the icons :
this is wrong.

despite this : total commander is one of the best shareware pgms on the planet !

Thank's Christian.

Confirmed (TC 7.02a, Win2k SP4).

Having no active physical drive B: I used subst.exe b: c:\somedir.
B: is displayed correctly then with a hard drive icon in the drive button bar,
but "EXE/LNK not on floppy" still treats it as a floppy, not showing the Icons.
Who the hell is General Failure, and why is he reading my disk?

Confirmed here as well.

On a side note, I was not familiar with this functionality until I just tried it. Now I'd like to undo it, i.e. make drive B disappear again. How do I do that? :-)

Code: Select all

subst b: /d
or after reboot ;)
