Thanx, fixed, try to redownload! Archive type is selected by target file extension.

Re: [Updated!!!] New PPMd packer plugin: PPMPackTC

Post by *alexanderwdark »

Plugin PPMPackTC was updated!

Now plugin packs with PPMd (by Dmitry Shkarin) and HA HSC (by Harry Hirvola) algoritms.

Inluding solid mode packing to tar.ppmd and tar.ppmp

To pack by HSC select *.ppmd type and set options to hsc packing.

History:

26.05.2008 Support also packing with HA HSC algoritm, more faster, good compression!

alexanderwdark wrote:2. No, not a bug. At this stage there is no canceling (library don't supports it yet). No time for making it at this moment...
Have you still plans to add it?

2008-12-26 Added support for LPAQ8 and PAQ8 compression with extra high compression level, better, than PPMD and LZMA (but bad speed :) )

2008-12-27: Added QUAD and BALZ compressors by A. Muraviev - very nice compression and good speed, also high-compression mode (when mem in settings > 4)

Did you get BALZ sources? Or did you use BALZ.exe?

Great job! (I once tried to add PAQ8 to Multiarc but was not very successful.)

Is it possible to make a plugin for the *.pea format (PeaZip)?

Another very interesting challenge would be a plugin to produce the smallest standard (deflate) zip possible, using KZip (http://www.advsys.net/ken/utils.htm) with configurable options and DeflOpt.exe (http://www.walbeehm.com/download/) and AdvZip.exe (http://advancemame.sourceforge.net/doc-advzip.html) to further optimise some bytes... These utilities can usually beat 7zip's zips by ~5...10% and TC's own zips by even more.

alexanderwdark,
Added support for LPAQ8 and PAQ8 compression
Oh wow, and which PAQ8? :)

Roman
Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

2008-12-29 Implemented also PAQ9A by M.Mahoney - new fast PAQ with nice compression, ratio better kicks off PPMD and WinRar.

alexanderwdark,
Very cool, thanks a lot! Hopefully finally a useful packer (that stores file dates and other attributes, etc.) that uses the PAQ algorithms. :)

 What use for PAQ8 do you find?
