How to automatically turn path to %COMMANDER_PATH%

Post by *yeskky »

I use TC in USB stick.
I put some tools in subfolder of TC's root folder.
When I drag a file onto the button bar I want the path of the button to be like %COMMANDER_PATH%\TOOLS\XXX.EXE but not the absolute path like X:\TOTALCMD\TOOLS\XXX.EXE.

How can I do this,please?

regards.

For doing it automatically you can edit the DEFAULT.BAR file (normally in TC’s folder) and find and replace the absolute commander path by the relative one.

Manually it can be done easily.
By pressing the right mouse button on the button, you can open a local menu, which allows to change or delete buttons. You should choose Change.
In the Change Button bar or Change single Button dialog box, you must change the command, by setting the path of the button to be like %COMMANDER_PATH%\TOOLS\XXX.EXE, and, if necessary the Path below to be like %COMMANDER_PATH%\TOOLS\.

(Perhaps tc2usb tool should detect and optionally change commander path in ALL settings files, such as ini, bar and mnu.)
