Maybe updating to the latest version of Nero could fix your problem.
In the latest update they "Fixed saving tracks to NRG image file".

Audio images will most probably not work, because they use a different sector size (less error correction).

I have a problem with new version when it comes to unpacking S/VCD image files. Previous versions (e.g. 1.2 rc1) used to have a nice feature:
* Mode2/Form2 (S/VCD & XCD) extraction (emulates Windows behaviour)

This extracted an *.mpg file to a play-able file, by correcting/adding the mpg header. Now (v1.6.2) it simple extract the file as it is and this is not play-able.

Any update/correction available for this?
