|
|
I've owned, in succession over the last 6 years, HP iPAQ 6515 & 6910, Eten X500, HTC P3600i, HTC P3650, Sony Ericcson X1 and an ACER DX900 - still have the last three.
I've used Commander Pocket with all of them and use the 2.52beta1 version now. Obviously, I regard Commander Pocket as indispensable.
Connecting to my LAN is easy, with the Plugins\LAN folder. This works well.
BUT, although all of the devices above except the DX900 will allow placement of a network icon in the bottom Commander tray (dragging the "shadow" to the tray and activating the hidden icon), the DX900 will not do this.
It does not allow the "shadow" to form from the network entry for dragging. Double-tapping the network entry connects perfectly, but no shadow.
Anyone with experience of this issue, please ? |

You can try this workaround:
1. Drag any program to the bar to add it
2. Tap&Hold on the button to modify it
3. As the command, write this:
cd \\servername
or
cd \\servername\sharename _________________ Author of Total Commander

Thank you for the quick reply.
The issue is with the 1st point in your reply:
"1. Drag any program to the bar to add it"
Dragging doesn't happen for any program - no shadow.
I think I may have to delve into the TC Registry settings, compare the DX900 with the other PDA's |

I've compared the Registry settings of the DX900 with those of both the Polaris and X1 (using CeReg)
No differences found, so it seems likely the problem is caused by a bug in the DX900 ROM.
Pity ... |

| Disable TouchFlo and other finger scrolling utilities, they prevent you from dragging. Or try to hold the stylus on the icon about 0".1 and then drag it. |

Thank you for the thought, TouchFlo and other RAM-eating frippery are banished from my devices (and verily, even from the ROM's).
I've tried creating a shadow by pressing the stylus on every position I can. No shadow to drag. As I've said, I believe it's a peculiarity of the ROM in the DX900. |
