"Feed to listbox" from a file
Hello.
Is it possible to have a "Search result:" like panel, where the file list is fed from a file instead of "Feed to list box" command result.
Thank you in advance

You may use DiskDir Extended plugin for this purpose.
Using this packer plugin creates a filelist which is just a textfile like a DIR command output.
This format allows to browse, copy and open files like they are real.
Even a "Synchronize Directory" is possible with it.
Another way is the usage of Temporary Panel
Just give it a try ...

Hello sqa_wizard
that is an interesting idea, but maybe not that what nequam (and me too) are looking for. The condition of your proposal is that the file list of Diskdir extended was made with TC.
But what if I get a simple text-file (made by other software or other people) like this:
Sometime I have these list and want to open all the files. But how?
(Sometimes I edit the file-list and
- make "search all file" - "select from file"
- or use search-plugins
but both solutions take time for editing and for searching huge drives ...)

Hello,
thank you, I've tried the recommended plugins. Unfortunately, there are several restrictions (comparing to 'search result:' panel):
Critical (for me):
- there is no custom view in fs plugins
- it is impossible to launch a program with a file from the fs plugin panel as a parameter
Less critical:
- it is impossible copy files in background
- it impossible to view/edit file comments

The rest issues are TC limitations, unfortunately. Maybe comments could be possible but with internal plugin functionality only.
There is but chosen plugin has to support it.nequam wrote:- there is no custom view in fs plugins

Hello.
So, there is no way to have fully functional file panel the is fed from a file? It is a pity, I really need it.
I think it would be very useful to a have, for example, a TC command that takes a file name and feeds its contents into a new tab.
What is the best way of feature request submission for TC? Should I open a special topic, send email or so?
Thank you in advance

Ctrl+Q will show you selected file's content in opposite panel but it will not treat it as separate files list (in the way of copying / moving / etc.).nequam wrote:I think it would be very useful to a have, for example, a TC command that takes a file name and feeds its contents into a new tab.
Maybe some "media oriented" wlx plugin (with Ctrl+Q of course) will give you few additional features for playlists but this is something you should check by yourself. Even if I know a lot about them, I don't use all of them
Few suggestions:

Check has it been requested in the past already.nequam wrote:What is the best way of feature request submission for TC? Should I open a special topic, send email or so?
