Default settings except the first page of TC`s config (Layout). All checkboxes on the page Layout are activated.
1. Open TC
2. Click arrow down on the left of the c:\ in the right breadcrumb (on inactive panel).
3. Another click there
4. Crash

Remark: Win7 was not installed from official MS distribution and is working under VM. Classic style.

Can't reproduce. Win7 x86, classic theme, I turned all checkboxes in Layout page on, restarted TC, set right panel to C:, activated left panel and began to click=)))) nothing...

I also cannot reproduce this when testing on my "normal" MSDN Windows 7 x64 without any VMs, tweaks and with UAC enabled. It seems that UAC have an influence.

Unfortunately I couldn't reproduce it either, but I found the possible reason, so please re-test when the next version comes out.

I`v just found another issue, that possibly helps you by fixing(or at least reproducing).
The same steps, which are making crash under Win7(mentioned in the first post of the thread), making "ding" sound under Win98 :)

Of course, I will do re-test under Win7 when the next version comes out.
Thanks for fixing!

No more crashes here with TC7.50, but the other problem instead
Screenshot: [img=http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/5189/750failure.th.png]

This occures only under VmWare with "non-official" build of Windows7 (x86) and only a short time after starting of the system.

Under normal MSDN Windows7 X64 Rus all seems to be ok.

[added]
"ding" sound under win98 is still there

Thanks for confirming the fix! I do not get this with official X86 build of Windows 7 from MSDN (also under Vmware). The red circle appears a few seconds after the read directory function is started in a background thread. It should allow a user to abort the reading. What happens when you click on it? Does TC remain usable?

TC remains usable. After the first click it seems like "Computer" doesn`t have any subfolders. It has not a "right arrow" symbol. But if I click again, all disks are normally available. If I repeat this 3-4 times, the red circle doesn`t appear anymore. Then all disks are avaiable immediately.

Ah, good to hear that it doesn't cause any crash or hang.
