Executing from read-only disk

Post by *FileCity »

I'm currently building a recovery boot CD made from Windows PE, and of course, a CD is read-only. I'm trying to figure out what I can do to execute Total Commander 6 correctly in a read-only enviroment. Of course, the program told me that it can't save it's .ini files, so I can't try the FTP functions from my Windows PE CD  Cannot start a new connection.

Thanks a lot for your help :)

doesnt WinPE has a ramdisk?

check the cmdline parameters from totalcmd and redirect the ini paths to that ramdisk.

If you search the forum you will also find answer to your question.

Take a look also to the help file of tc in the ini & command line section
