Copy dialog
Left panel tree and right panel full view.
If i select a file in the right panel and click the copy button i don't get a normal "copy ... to" dialog box where i can select the destination directory but a dialog box which asks if i want to copy the file to the directory "selected on the left site" with a yes and a no button ?
Is this normal behaviour ?
Win XP - Tcmd 7.50a

Doesn't appear to be "Explorer Delete Method" related.
Happens when you have a tree in one panel, and selected files in the other.
F5, in that case just pops up a Copy Confirmation to whatever folder is selected in the Tree.
It's silly though when you first open a Tree, the folder Left/Right is the same (i.e. Same folder selected in Tree as displayed in the other details pane). And in that case TC asks if you want to copy the Selected Files to Source -- and winds up doing nothing.

*BLINK* TC9 Added WM_COPYDATA and WM_USER queries for scripting.
Indeed, but it's also very silly that if you have already a tree in one panel you have to change it first to full view to get a copy/move dialog which makes the tree view almost unusable.
..and when you drag & drop something to a directory on a tree then you do get a copy dialog box which makes it even stranger.

Even if I choose another folder in a tree, TC asks confirmation for copy to selected folder but even if gets it, does nothing. Looks like bug.Balderstrom wrote:It's silly though when you first open a Tree, the folder Left/Right is the same (i.e. Same folder selected in Tree as displayed in the other details pane). Oh, sh**! I only now noticed that copied items are on my desktop!!Evds wrote:In my case it's always copied to the desktop, the first entry of my tree view.

For desktop small confirmation dialog is normal. So, we have two bugs:
1. TC shows in confirmation dialog selected item from tree.
2. TC ignores selection within tree and copies to upper item.

F5 copy always copies to the base directory of the other panel - which is the desktop in the case of a tree! So where is the bug? You need to use drag&drop to copy the file to a specific subdir, just as if there is a directory displayed.

Bug is that TC asks to copy into another folder, non desktop. TC asks to copy into selected folder - it confuses user.ghisler(Author) wrote:F5 copy always copies to the base directory of the other panel - which is the desktop in the case of a tree! Not to mention how useless the F5/F6 copy function becomes when TreeView is open.
I believe it's perfectly reasonable to expect TC would copy where it says it is going to.
I also believe the OP's complaint is valid: there's no reason the normal copy dialog shouldn't open so you can choose to change/edit the destination field via the keyboard.
Then TC proceeds to copy the files to desktop instead.Copy 1 file(s) to
C:\Users\Admini\AppDat\Opera\profile\
[___Yes___] [____No____]

I think that small message box instead of full copy/move dialog is because TC will copy to desktop, so full dialog is just unavailable for such target.Balderstrom wrote:I also believe the OP's complaint is valid: there's no reason the normal copy dialog shouldn't open so you can choose to change/edit the destination field via the keyboard.
